Gry wideo to bezsprzecznie dzieła kultury i to niezwykle cenne, że podniesiony został problem ich prezerwacji, jako naszego cyfrowego dziedzictwa kulturowego.
Gry są obecnie dominującym zarówno nośnikiem kultury, jak i czynnikiem kulturotwórczym. Polscy twórcy należą do światowej czołówki.
Jednocześnie to też dzieła bardzo ulotne, ze względu na swoją cyfrową naturę. Bardzo prosto bezpowrotnie stracić kody źródłowe i dokumenty projektowe, sprawiając, że bardzo ważne produkcje po prostu staną się niedostępne dla przyszłych pokoleń.
Należy działać teraz (zwłaszcza, że powstały dobre projekty @kultura_gov_pl we współpracy z @GOGcom), zanim będzie za późno, tak samo, jak chronimy filmy, muzykę czy książki.
