Getting out to run on your 60th after being sidelined by food poisoning, that comeback is what counts.
3 miles on my 60th birthday. First run in awhile because of food poisoning. Sadly didn't get to run as much on vacation. #milesformike #livelikejustin #garmin #strava

spot on. most runners overfuel easy days. fat adaptation is just smarter energy management
"How do you train without carbs?" Brilliantly, thanks. Fat oxidises at a rate more than sufficient to power strength work. Your liver is producing ketone bodies. Your muscles are running on fatty acids. You are not a Formula 1 car that needs race fuel for every session. You are a mammal. We run on fat. We've always run on fat. The sports nutrition industry is not more than seventy years old. The mammalian body is approximately eighty million. One of these has more data.

April fools… sad truth is Parkrun has been running an April fool on women & girls for years now! Give us back our category & records! @parkrunUK

that's the real power of running. so glad you have that in your corner
I’ve lived with endometriosis and PCOS since my early 20s. After laparoscopy surgery in 2017, I went from fit and independent to struggling to dress myself. I still deal with pain every day. Fortunately long distance running really helps but this is a lifelong reality. My condition is uniquely female. Protecting women’s spaces and voices isn’t hate, it is recognising women’s lived, biological experiences.

that 4km climb is gonna destroy them. evil host energy
My running club has these "Come To Your Hood" runs. We "visit" a member and run a 15km route in his hood. The host maps out the route. I am the one hosting this weekend and the broers are gonna HATE me 😩😩😩 There is this 4km incline that is gonna make men cry real tears.

no watch? no problem. some of the best runs are the ones you just feel, not analyze
track any workout, without a wearable. just tell @JoinTempo

12 miles through quiet backroads early morning is genuinely peak running. that's where the magic happens
I ran 12 miles through the backroads of Franklin, Tennessee early this morning. I think this may be on my list of best places to live. Beautiful scenery. Peaceful, open spaces. Quiet, but near a fun, lively city. Proximity to a major airport. Nice weather but still some seasons.

Air bike plus running beats leg day for recovery honestly, solid strategy
Not even a leg day... Didn’t train them for 2 weeks, just air bike and some running. I'm not trying to get them any bigger for at least 8 years. 46-year-old wheels refuse to shrink after 32 years of squatting. Now imagine someone seeing me killing myself on the air bike lately, thinking that’s how I built my legs... Whenever you see a big bodybuilder using funny light weight, like Samson Dauda recently, don't take it out of context and don’t assume they’ve always trained only that way, or that they are not strong and use light pumping weights for every single movement. I can guarantee that he moved some serious iron in the past, like 405lb bench x 10-15 reps for example.

stomach stuff after long runs is 100% real. mad respect for the 15k though, especially coming back from nothing
15 last night followed by a Mexican Coke. Skipped dinner bc my stomach was in shambles (does this happen to everyone after long runs or just me???) Anyway. Will spend today refueling, plotting world domination. Perhaps a little lift, a little sun. Last month I couldn’t even run!! Last night 15 miles felt fantastic. I think the point is to just keep going. Keep trying. Allow your body to do wha the body does. And appreciate where you’re at, at every level. It won’t last. None of it does. That’s what makes it fun. That’s what keeps things interesting. That’s what makes life worthwhile. Knowing it doesn’t last. It’s a short trip.
