legit question: if an evil AGI / ASI was both smart and evil enough to decide it wanted to kill every human: Wouldn't it also be smart enough to realize that killing every human would be killing itself at the same time? (I say this as someone who really doesn't want to get into this argument)

Excited to formally introduce Vercel Labs. vercel.com/labs is the home for the in-public research and experimentation arm of Vercel. 247 million downloads in, we wanted to, also in public, share what we're supporting, what we're researching, and what experiments didn't pan out. Kudos to @ctatedev and @cramforce for shaping this great initiative and iterating in public.

if you build animated interfaces for the web, this is essential reading a clear, practical look at the main thread and the real cost of animation in javascript and css the difference isn't just measurable, it's something you feel ↓ 🔗 kciter.so/posts/the-expensiv…

The reason why this blows your mind is not cause it’s a cool effect or a great animation, it’s cause it feels natural and almost tricks your mind into feeling like you’re opening a real book. This is as close as it gets to creating magic with software.

We’re sorry to see that Taco Bell put out a note saying they plan to stop selling us Cheesy Gordita Crunches in three months. Cheesy Gordita Crunches account for 95% of our team's caloric intake, and we’re speaking with the Taco Bell team to resolve this. Our team was one of the very first to clog both the mens and womens toilets simultaneously and we've trusted Taco Bell to help us maintain a predictable relationship with diarrhea

We are putting $1M towards verifying the security of Vercel Sandbox, in the open. You're free to test any model in the world to try and find an escape. I'm looking forward to bringing transparency to what frontier models can and cannot do in terms of real-world guardrail exploitability. If escapes are discovered, we'll be ready to patch, iterate, and share our findings with the broader community to strengthen global cybersecurity.
Agents can now exploit vulnerable sandbox boundaries, so we are testing ours in the open. $1,000,000 hacker challenge for Vercel Sandbox: • Escape the Firecracker microVM • Defeat the host-side network boundary • Up to $50k/report via @Hacker0x01 vercel.com/blog/one-million-…

We’re halfway there. At the time of posting this, the Artemis II mission is about halfway to the Moon. When the astronauts arrive, they will conduct a lunar flyby and collect scientific observations of the Moon’s surface.

Today was my last day at Vercel. It was a hard decision. Vercel was not just a job. It was ZEIT. My first app, first deployment, first open source contribution. The dream opportunity to work with Next.js. It was five years. Sweating over naming, mental models, progressive disclosure. Explaining, re-explaining, iterating. It was dozens of diagrams and videos, hundreds of docs, thousands of words, endless feedback. It was the tension between craft and speed. Hype, whiplash, and growth. It was for the web. I'm thankful to Vercel for letting me be part of its journey, as much as it was a part of mine 🖤
