Donald Trump says he will become "Mr. Veto" if Democrats take control of Congress on Tuesday. He told the New York Post he would veto their bills for "a month or two" until Democrats "come over and make a deal." Overriding a veto takes a two thirds vote in both the House and Senate. Trump made the comments as a new NBC News poll shows his disapproval at a record 60 percent and Democrats leading by 7 points. polialert.com/ckrh

Iran’s supreme leader just warned the U.S. that any new attack will be met with an immediate response, and that Iran alone will decide when the war ends. The threat comes days after Trump told a rally crowd, “You’ll see Iran in a couple of weeks,” and said “anything’s possible” when asked about strikes after Tuesday’s midterms. Rubio says no final decision has been made, while Qatar and Pakistan push to keep the fighting from starting again. polialert.com/lbjt

Elon Musk called Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger "utterly racist and sexist regarding White men" after she posted a photo celebrating the most diverse cabinet in state history. Katie Miller piled on too, pointing out that no white men were pictured. But Spanberger's office says the photo was taken for a Richmond magazine shoot and was never her full cabinet, which includes several white men who weren't in the shot.

A federal judge just threw out Trump’s lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal for good. The case was over the paper’s story about a lewd birthday letter bearing Trump’s name in Jeffrey Epstein’s 2003 birthday album. Judge Darrin Gayles dismissed it with prejudice, so Trump can’t refile, and said the lawsuit was “grasping at straws.” He also ruled that Trump denying the letter wasn’t enough to stop the Journal from publishing, because that would violate the First Amendment. Trump’s team says he’ll keep pushing. polialert.com/6hze

Nicki Minaj says Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed is projecting anger at his own parents onto white people, and she told him to "mend his heart before thinking about running for any office." It started with a clip from El-Sayed's interview with Hasan Minhaj. In it, he said Pete Hegseth's parents cheered for him even when he sat the bench, while his own parents never came to his games, and that as a brown kid, "no matter what you do, you're never enough." Elon Musk backed Nicki with "Well said." El-Sayed faces Republican Mike Rogers on Tuesday. polialert.com/7p8n

Haley Stevens is demanding Abdul El-Sayed apologize, four days before Michigan's Senate election. The congresswoman who lost the Democratic primary to him wants El-Sayed to apologize for suggesting Israel is the reason Michigan can't afford schools, health care and child care, and to condemn an outside PAC's ad she calls antisemitic. El-Sayed says she's relitigating a primary she lost. This comes days after Stevens' fiancé said he's voting for Republican Mike Rogers. polialert.com/e6gm

David Jolly is flipping the socialism label right back on Byron Donalds. The Democratic nominee for Florida governor asked why a state hurricane fund that bails out insurance companies is fine, why Elon Musk gets billions in tax credits, and why Trump promising a $5,000 check if you vote Republican isn't called socialism. He also blasted Trump for backing Maduro's former vice president in Venezuela and inviting Putin to Miami in December. Floridians vote Tuesday. polialert.com/txrb

Voters in Alabama and Michigan have more than candidates on the ballot Tuesday. Alabama has four constitutional amendments, including one that would require public schools to hold the Pledge of Allegiance every day and allow student led prayer, and another that would require schools to play the national anthem at least once a week. In Michigan, voters will decide whether to hold a convention that could rewrite the state constitution, plus a measure that would block utilities and big government contractors from making certain campaign contributions. Here’s what each one actually does before you vote. polialert.com/qe3f

Even a Trump-appointed judge would not help the Trump administration stop 20,000 California votes from being counted. On Monday, Judge Mark Bennett wrote the 9th Circuit ruling sending the Justice Department back to the lower court, and said part of the rush was the government's own fault. Then on Wednesday, Judge David Carter rejected the request entirely, calling it "a broad, ongoing pattern of attempted election interference" and telling the DOJ to stop threatening election workers. The DOJ is appealing again, with more than 3.7 million Californians already voted. polialert.com/vdsw

Every ten years the Census counts everyone in America, and then the maps get redrawn. Redistricting decides which district you live in and who represents you in Congress and your state house. In most states lawmakers draw those lines themselves, and that’s where gerrymandering comes in: packing one group’s voters into a few districts or cracking them apart so they never win a majority. Here’s how the process works, who holds the pen, and why it matters for your vote. polialert.com/yq95

At least 10 US military cargo planes from a major air defense base in Texas have landed at Israeli airbases this week, with more flights heading to Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait. The US hasn't said what's on board, but Israeli media reports the planes are likely restocking interceptor missiles as Washington weighs new strikes on Iran. polialert.com/j0oi

The US has warned Gulf allies to brace for a short, intense military campaign against Iran right after the November 3 midterms, according to the Wall Street Journal and AP. A Patriot missile battery is moving from Texas to the region and troops are being pulled from exposed bases. Diplomats say Trump has not made a final decision. polialert.com/tjoj

Student IDs won’t get you a ballot in New Hampshire this November. The Supreme Court just let the state enforce its new voter ID limits for the midterms, and Justice Jackson was the only dissent. polialert.com/jsjp

Vivek Ramaswamy's ad featuring Amy Acton's estranged mother calling her a liar is off the air. Acton was removed from her mother's custody at 12 over abuse, and her campaign says Ramaswamy pulled the ad "in the most cowardly way possible" without apologizing. Ramaswamy says it just "ran to completion." Ohio votes November 3. polialert.com/najx

Louisiana votes Tuesday, Nov. 3, and the ballot is loaded: a U.S. Senate seat, all six House seats and ten amendments to the state constitution. In the Senate race, Republican Rep. Julia Letlow faces Democrat Jamie Davis for the seat Bill Cassidy held before losing his primary. House races are an open primary, so if nobody clears 50%, the top two go to a Dec. 12 runoff. The amendments cover everything from limiting governors to two lifetime terms, to new property tax breaks for homeowners 65 and older, to banning post conviction bail for people convicted of aggravated crimes against children. Polls are open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Here’s what each amendment actually does before you walk in. polialert.com/azzy

Trump says his comments about Jon Husted’s backside boosted the Ohio senator 12 points, and he posted it on TikTok before his Chillicothe rally Wednesday. He’s also claimed 2 points, 9 or 10 points, and “14 points or something.” No poll shows it. Most surveys have Sherrod Brown ahead with five days to go, including Fox News at 52 to 47, in a state Trump won by 11. Republicans have spent about $317 million in Ohio, and the race could come down to women voters and the 7% backing third party candidates. polialert.com/vviy

A Stockton resident used public comment to read Mayor Christina Fugazi over her treatment of Jason Lee. The council stripped Lee of his vice mayor title two weeks ago after refusing to accept his resignation, and Lee says Fugazi accused him of "pimping out" Stockton. The resident called the remark racially motivated, asked "who exactly is pimping who, Mayor?" and questioned whether Fugazi is fit to lead a city dealing with violence against kids. The speech ended with a Harriet Tubman quote and a message to Lee: keep going.
