No, it should be required. Even if you don’t go into OB/GYN, a physician will absolutely encounter pregnancy, cervical cancer, PMOS, or endometriosis at one point or another.

I hate this convo bc nobody seems to understand that patients can say no to whatever makes them uncomfortable and med students can be disappointed that everyone is turning them away and also frustrated bc they need this experience for their job. neither invalidates the other.
