This project was also my first use of @pre_commit using the {precommit} #rstats package and it was really a game changer in terms of not having to think about style guidelines etc.

git pre-commit hooks are awesome because they can catch pesky linting and formatting issues before you push to GitHub.
We use:
1. isort to check the order of library imports
2. flake8 to check for Python linting issues
3. black to check formatting
