Here’s a reminder of the BOM’s previous handiwork of upgrading their website. Back in 1924, the remote Western Australian town of Marble recorded the histories longest recorded heatwave. For 160 days, from 31st Oct 1923 to 7th April 1924 the official temperature at Marble Bar reached or exceed the old century mark, 100°F (37.8°C) - something that has never happened since anywhere in the world. ThIs record used to be (up until 14th May 2013) celebrated on the Bureau of Meteorology’s website in the section “Climate Education". It was more than a historic climate record, as it stood as a tribute and testimony to the endurance & spirit of Australia‘s pioneers that helped develop our nation’s mineral resources that underwrite our prosperity today. However a record heatwave back in 1923/4 is sacrilege to religion of the climate cult - so the Bureau of Metrology set to work to remedy this situation. How can you convince people to engage in acts of self harm to stop "global warming" - when the world’s longest heatwave occurred back in 1923/24 ? From a desk in Canberra in 2013, 90 years after the original temperature measurements were recorded at Marble Bar, just like in a scene of the Ministry of Truth in Orwell’s 1984, the BOM set about rewriting our history by tampering with the historical record. The BOM went through the daily temperatures original recorded at Marble Bar and using their secret "homogenisation" process tampered with the data to reduce the average maximum daily temperatures from 1910 to 1944 by -0.52°C. The world record for the longest heatwave of 160 days over 100°F (37.8°C) was extinguished because the BOM magically adjusted the original temperature of 38.2°C recorded on 8th March 1924 - and recalculated that it was only 36.5°C, some 1.7°C cooler. So someone sitting in their air-conditioned taxpayer funded office in Canberra decided that the person who was record the temperatures back on 8th March 1924 got it wrong by 1.7°C And after re-writing history, the BOM quietly deleted their Climate Education page - and the record heatwave of 1923/24 was sent down a memory hole. Winston would be proud. And yet the Liberal Party shut down an inquiry into the BOM when Tony Abbott won office (breaking an election promise) enabling the BOM to avoid being held to account.
