It is like, we know the regime is nearing its use-by date so everyone grift every which way you can.

I remember reading @amitangshu 's draft, and then the final text, way back when. This excerpt is... appalling for its blatant plagiarism. Hey, @PenguinIndia , not so long ago you were making a big think of fact-checking. Do you do plagiarism checks too?
A scholar from #Bangladesh shared this excerpt from a @PenguinIndia book published in the @dailystarnews today. She felt the text was too familiar to something I had written three years. So I read this excerpt and it was truly shocking!👇

😂 Plot twist in Varanasi: BJP has discovered “Vote Chori”!
• Opposition questions elections → BJP calls it an excuse for losing.
• BJP faces defeat in Varanasi MLC polls → Suddenly, according to them, SP has done vote Chori😂😂
• BJP workers accuse election officials of irregularities.
• BJP demands recounting and protests outside the counting centre.
Yesterday:
Vote Chori is opposition propaganda!
Today: Hamare votes chori ho rahe hain! 😂
Dear BJP, so questioning election transparency is acceptable only when YOU are losing?
Welcome to the Vote Chori debate!
So then why are you hellbent on using EVMs, @ChouhanShivraj ? Oh btw, of 28 seats, the BJP won 13 and the Opposition 15. Also because of ballot papers, no?
Does this apply to the BJP guys who have been protesting in various parts? Asking for a friend.

These promises are written on water, seemingly. Here is a timeline:
In 2017 the NGT established the "Maily Se Nirmal Yamuna Revitalisation Plan" with a completion target of March 31, 2017.
In 2021, Manish Sisodia -- then deputy CM -- promised to clean the Yamuna completely within three years (by 2024).
In 2025, the draft NCR Regional Plan set a deadline for 2026 to ensure zero discharge of untreated sewage and industrial effluents.
In 2027, the Centre’s 30-point action plan targeted the completion of major interventions, including the operationalization of new sewage treatment plants, by 2027.
Now this. Also, here, a story from the Hindu: thehindu.com/news/cities/Del…
On the plus side, at least Shah didn't say Yamuna will be clean in 2047 -- though I suspect we will get there in time

After the raging success of Uttarakhand investment summit comes MP’s own list of proposed investments…50 crore by a momo shop and 5 crore by something called Chikni Aatma and more
One might imagine Madhya Pradesh’s list of proposed investments to be a serious document. But this one included a hair salon worth ₹3,000 crore, “October” at ₹200 crore, “Chikni Aatma” at ₹5 crore and a momo shop at ₹50 crore that shut two years ago.
Stay tuned for the full investigation by Prateek Goyal. Out soon on Newslaundry!

“Foreigners” always meant Muslims. Advani was dogwhistling away about this in Assam in the late 90s. He wanted an ID card that serve as the proto-database to identify Muslims. The project lay dormant for nearly a decade and was revived as Aadhaar. I wrote a book about it.
🚨The SIR has repeatedly been sold as an exercise to identify “illegal foreigners”. Data from at least six states shows only 1,600 found in a combined electorate of over 98 million. Also no standardised SOPs were issued which means several states didn’t even collect this data. @htTweets
Point 2 is what I have been practicing for a long time now. (Yay for the block button).
