I feel so relieved and proud of myself. Every school year, she would blow things out of proportion and threaten to end the friendship. This time, I beat her to it.
Now she’s telling mutual friends she’s confused and threatening to unalive herself. I genuinely hope she gets help, but I refuse to feel guilty for choosing my peace.
Funny how someone can threaten to leave you repeatedly but struggle when you finally walk away.

🚨Hansi Flick on the Kopa Trophy: Cubarsí Deserved It, and Yamal’s Response Made Me Even Prouder
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has spoken candidly about the recent Kopa Trophy decision. In his view, Pau Cubarsí was the player who most deserved the award this time.
Flick pointed out that Lamine Yamal had already claimed the trophy in the previous two seasons. Awarding it to Cubarsí, he believes, would have been the strongest possible recognition of the young defender’s exceptional campaign both for Barcelona and on the international stage at the World Cup, where he performed at an outstanding level.
At the same time, Flick made clear that what matters most to him is the character shown by Yamal. The way the teenager handled the situation, he said, filled him with genuine pride. In Flick’s words, Yamal dealt with the entire matter “in a wonderful way.”
The comments highlight two things at once: a coach’s honest assessment of individual merit and his appreciation for the maturity and class displayed by one of his key players when the spotlight shifted. It’s a rare, measured take that values both excellence and composure.

Judge: “Your wife also says you refused to attend your daughter's birthday last month.”
Father: “I didn't refuse. I was working.”
Judge: “She says your daughter waited until midnight for you.”
Father: “I know.”
Judge: “And you think that's acceptable?”
Father: “No, Your Honor. I don't.”
The judge put down his pen.
Judge: “Then why should I grant you custody?”
Father: “Because I know I haven't been the perfect father. But I've never stopped trying to provide for those children.”

Luz was rejected for a job, then the company owner emailed asking why she hadn’t shown up.
She thought it was a mistake.
Luz replied, “HR rejected me on Tuesday. That’s why I didn’t come.”
The owner asked her to forward the rejection email.
A few minutes later, he called.
“Do you remember the man sitting in the back during your interview?”
Luz barely noticed him. She assumed he was a supervisor.
“That was me,” he said.
He had been listening without introducing himself.
He told Luz that during the interview, she gave an answer to a problem the company had struggled with for months. Then she asked a question that made the interviewers uncomfortable.
“That was when I decided I wanted you.”
Luz paused.
“Then why did HR reject me?”
The owner went quiet.
