This is something I’ve always wanted to do and I am so grateful for the opportunity to write for this moving film, having adored the works of art by Suzanne Collins. I was already totally connected and inspired by the tragic yet hopeful story of Haymitch and Lenore Dove, and writing a song about the purpose, grief and perseverance through pain that they exemplify was an experience I’ll always be grateful for. This is an incredible film, and I am so honored to be a small part of it.

The Originals might be the most successful spin-offs I've ever seen, and I don't think people talk about it enough
it never felt like The Vampire Diaries 2.0, it came from the same universe, had characters we already knew and built on stories that started in The Vampire Diaries, but somehow created an entirely different identity for itself.
The move to New Orleans.
The Mikaelson family.
“Always and Forever.”
The witches, vampires and werewolves.
The politics, betrayals and power struggles.
The focus on family, legacy and protecting the people you love.
even the atmosphere of the show felt different,
TVD was largely a coming-of-age story wrapped in supernatural drama, The Originals felt more like a story about an ancient family trying to survive each other, their enemies and the consequences of centuries of their own decisions.
The Originals was its own show,its own world. Its own identity
