kept switching grayscale off on my phone and never turning it back on, so i built an android app for it 🙃
grayout turns grayscale back on after a few minutes, keeps the apps you pick in color, and can run on a schedule
👏 brilliant work by @theo and team on t3 code
- i didn't like the default snooze options, checked the settings and found out i can make my own
- it even flags when two options land on the same time or one has already passed for today.
Still an underrated way to learn a codebase, use the app daily, get annoyed, read just enough code to fix that one thing, repeat 4 times and you kinda know the repo
my android launcher (fokus launcher) started pinning whatsapp chats into my app drawer
turned out "remove shortcut" re-pinned every cached chat shortcut along with the real pins
fixed it with claude, one query change plus a test, PR merged in under 3 hours 🫡
grayout 1.4 is out with a new UI. the schedules screen now has a bar for the day, so one look tells me when my phone goes gray
haiku 4.5 scored 0.0 on terminal-bench and 5.5 got 39.2, so i'll try it on summaries and compactions before i trust it with anything bigger
Replying to @claudeai
Haiku 5.5 is a significant step up over Haiku 4.5 across coding, computer use, and knowledge work.
calling the poll rigged and pressing the button anyway is the most tibo thing
how it works: one adb command grants WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS, then the app flips android's own grayscale setting. no root, no network access, nothing leaves the phone
it's free and open source. if you try it, tell me if the setup works on your phone

t3 code nightly was the warm-up 😭 now the agents get their own OS
Replying to @theo
I'll give some hints:
- t3os is not for humans
- t3os is entirely composed of tech decisions I hate but agents prefer
- t3os is headless and meant to be installed on "personal servers"
- t3os will not have an iso
- t3os is largely ubuntu based and if that upsets you then t3os is not for you
- you should not install t3os on a computer you use
