instagram had 13 employees when it sold for $1 billion
whatsapp had 55 at $19 billion
small teams were winning before ai made it cool
how i grew my app to $10k/mo:
> no ads
> no influencers
> no launch post
just found subreddits where people already had the problem and posted like a normal person
some people need a cofounder to keep moving. some people need silence and no one watching
both are valid, just know which one you are
ai can build the app in a weekend now
it still cant tell you which screenshot makes someone stop scrolling
taste is the only moat left for design
everyone shows the chart going up
nobody shows the week it went sideways and they almost gave up posting about it
my app went from $0 to $10k/mo in about a month
nobody was watching. no twitter thread. no launch post.
just kept shipping and posting in places people actually were
reddit: 0 followers required to post, unlimited reach if the post is good
twitter: needs an audience first
why does everyone start with twitter
everyone talks about how fast you can build an app now
nobody talks about how long it took me to find the right reddit threads to post it in
the build was the easy part

aso is about to matter less than being the app chatgpt recommends
apple intelligence and chatgpt are already answering "what app should I use for X" before anyone opens the app store
basically nobody optimizing keywords right now is thinking about that
if an llm can't explain what your app does in one sentence, you're losing installs you can't even see happening
going back and rewriting my own app store description like I'm explaining it to a robot instead of a human
kind of dark that this actually works better
