Today the whole country is celebrating Independence Day.
But there are 6 families who have been waiting for the last 27 years for just one thing. They want respect for their sons.
These are those 6 names:
Captain Saurabh Kalia
Sepoy Arjun Ram
Sepoy Bhanwar Lal Bagaria
Sepoy Bhika Ram
Sepoy Moola Ram
Sepoy Naresh Singh
In the Kargil War of 1999, these 6 soldiers were the first patrol who found out that the Pakistani army had entered our area.
The Pakistani army caught all 6 of them alive.
Then for 22 days, they tortured them in the most cruel way.
This was a full violation of the Geneva Convention, the international law which says that captured soldiers must be treated with humanity.
When their mortal remains came back to India, the post mortem report showed the truth.
That report is still available on the internet.
But even after such a big sacrifice, these 6 martyrs have not got any gallantry award till date.
So today, on Independence Day, we are keeping one simple demand in front of the Government of India.
@rashtrapatibhvn @PMOIndia @narendramodi @DefenceMinIndia @adgpi
Give Captain Saurabh Kalia and his 5 jawans the gallantry award for their sacrifice.
These 6 men did not fight for medals. But giving them respect is the duty of 140 crore Indians.
If you agree with this demand, then like this tweet, retweet it, and repost it with your thoughts.

Neither. It's a curation problem.
India produces every grade of content simultaneously, Tier 1 to Tier 3. This clip is Tier 3, and it exists because an audience pays for it with attention.
But your feed is not a census of the country. It is a receipt of your own consumption. The algorithm shows you more of whatever you kept watching.
Curate your inputs and this 'problem' vanishes from your timeline. What remains is the India you chose to see.

Students in Jharkhand are out on the streets. Here is why.
Jharkhand has two bodies that conduct government job exams. The JPSC recruits for officer-level civil services, and the JSSC recruits for clerical and junior posts.
For years, students have accused both of these bodies of paper leaks and cheating, so trust was already breaking long before this.
Then came the 14th JPSC Civil Services Exam. On 19 April 2026, thousands of candidates sat for the prelims for just 103 officer posts, and the results were declared on 2 July.
Soon after, students noticed three red flags.
First, JPSC did not release the category-wise cut-off marks. Second, the merit list carried no signatures of the commission members. Third, an OMR sheet went viral that showed a candidate had attempted only 48 questions, and yet that candidate had passed.
For students, this was proof enough that the exam had been manipulated.
The government responded by ordering a CID investigation. The JPSC 14th Mains exam was postponed and the entire exam calendar was suspended. The CID then raided the JPSC office, where OMR sheets, computers and servers were seized, and eleven people were arrested. The JPSC Chairman resigned soon after.
But students were still not satisfied, because the CID works under the state government. They wanted an independent CBI investigation instead.
This is how the protest has grown.
Thousands of students marched through Ranchi for days. The issue reached Parliament, where BJP MPs demanded a CBI probe. CJP also backed the students' demand for a fair investigation, and some leaders have even begun a hunger strike in support.
So what exactly are the students demanding?
They want the 14th JPSC Preliminary Exam cancelled. They want a CBI probe ordered. They want every JPSC and JSSC exam held over the last seven years investigated. And they want both recruitment bodies reformed. Some groups are also demanding the Chief Minister's resignation.
The next big moment is 6 August, when students plan to march to the Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha.
That march could decide whether the government finally sits down for talks, or whether this protest grows even bigger.
