I still can't get over the fact that Harry Potter could've been one of the great stories of modern times if we'd had Malfoid. Almost a kind of neo-myth or legend for the Anglosphere and the wider Western world. Instead, it ended up becoming just another coming-of-age adventure story that companies keep milking endlessly. Maybe 100 years from now, people will look back at Harry Potter as one of those great near-miss series. Something that came incredibly close to becoming truly timeless, but never quite got there. That being said, we still have nearly 74 years to go, so maybe this will end up being one of those "Harry Potter walked so X could run" situations.
