Psilocybin news coverage is more confident than the trials behind it. A new review matched 172 articles to 70 trials: most trials were small and few checked long-term safety, while the coverage often presented the benefits as settled. 🧵

One big open question in psychedelic medicine is whether the benefit needs the trip. Two mouse studies this week suggest it might not, because the two seem to run on separate tracks in the brain. It is early, and nothing has been tested in people yet. 🧵
