#Muniyamma’s camera conversation with Seemapa shows that she too has been a victim of misogyny. But what’s disappointing is how she has internalised that same misogyny and repeatedly directs it at other women. She speaks about suppression, injustice and the anger she has carried, yet when she gets power inside the house, she often chooses other women as her first targets. Look at how happy and comfortable she is wearing jeans and men’s shirts, playing alongside men and having her intelligence valued without being constantly judged for her choices. She deserves that freedom and acceptance. But does she extend the same freedom and respect to other women? From policing women’s behaviour to questioning their intentions and dismissing their efforts, she ends up reinforcing the very system that oppressed her. The saddest part is seeing a woman who understands what it feels like to be suppressed become part of the same cycle against other women. #BiggBossTamil10
