The #RightToRepair is increasingly about software. It's not enough for manufacturers like @madebygoogle to make (some) spare parts available if they *deliberately* stop releasing software and security updates less than 3 years after launching a phone. arstechnica.com/gadgets/2022…

The image in this tweet displays its own MD5 hash. You can download and hash it yourself, and it should still match - 1337e2ef42b9bee8de06a4d223a51337 I think this is the first PNG/MD5 hashquine.
Trick I want to see: a document in a conventional format (such as PDF) which mentions its own MD5 or SHA1 hash in the text and is right

At one point, Red Hat Linux had a "Redneck" language option for its installer. I'll just leave these images here:

NPM is a clear and present (supply chain) danger. Threat actors are just too lazy to take notice so far apart from Barium/APT41....

Isn't it unsuitably irresponsible of Ubuntu Server to have the "universe" repository enabled by default?

git config --global alias.puff "pull --ff-only" (This is kind of the only alias I have in my shell/gitconfig.)

I guess `git config --global pull.ff only` would work as well for me, but it's not as fun. 💨

Spent some time reverse engineering more of the LG Sound Sync protocol by staring at SPDIF registers. Now I can finally mute my TV! 😅 PR sent to @hifiberry: github.com/hifiberry/hifiber…

The vulnerabilities exploited to accomplish the Kaseya customer intrusions were as dumb as you were probably expecting:
Have you been waiting for the technical details of the Kaseya VSA exploit? They are now available in this great post by Alexander Andersson @mranderssona, one of Truesec forensics leads, describing how the exploit worked. #Kaseya #ransomware #REvil hubs.li/H0S81tj0

Do you use "SuperDuper!" for Mac backups? Be aware that the latest stable version (v3.3.1 from November 2019) has a known bug where it silently fails to copy some files due to "encoding normalization in unusual situations". Vendor recommends running the beta version.

(Why this didn't merit a patch release is beyond me.)
