Reminders already existed in Quire, as a setting applied across your tasks. But a client deadline and the thing you have to do on the way home aren't asking for the same warning at the same hour. One rule has to treat them identically.
So reminders now work task by task. A reminder on a task reads the task's date, so moving the date brings it along. And a reminder doesn't need a task at all.
