Happy Birthday to a past mate to many of us. John Bourke
A birthday on Derby Eve….”just one more, big day tomorrow Rapha”
He would have been all set for a big gig somewhere at Flemington!
Derby day… big weekend to watch. As always @GatorGately Oz racing form hits the inbox in time for us all to read up. The man is a machine! For our international friends in town I suggest a subscribe for the week’s real insight!
Kudos to @FOXFOOTY Ray Chamberlain segment (did I spell that correctly). Those that watch it know that’s a correct call. Hard to cop for hawks supporter, get it. If it wasn’t paid ump wouldn’t be in GF! Great game!
Another Saturday here again.
Very interesting to see the return of Star Of Jamaica @Racing_QLD Eagle Farm. Decent horse to watch. Gelded.
But the Travis Harrison Cup tomorrow will be the must watch of the weekend imho!

Sad to hear the news this evening of Brian Markovic. Loved his calls. Moonee Valley on a Saturday night was his! Thinking of his family especially after such a long battle with heath. RIP

This Saturday at the Curragh 💜🐎
Since 2019, the Pat Smullen Race Day, Cycle & Charity Race have raised almost €1m for Cancer Trials Ireland.
That support has opened 4 trials, giving 174 patients access to new treatment options. Next: more trials & screening with @graokane
With huge thanks to the Smullen family and the wider racing community for making this possible.

The latest news in Australian harness racing today. No trainers or drivers made the cut for a farmer wants a wife 🤔 @TheTrotsComAu
Worth reading Nahed’s posts. I don’t know who was wrong or right so long ago re these battles. Perspective is alway viewed through rose coloured glasses, but it’s damn clear what is not right no matter which side of the fence you view from.
Remind you of anyone @blakeryan86
Great read!
This DRF David Grening article is an excellent read, capturing so many details that made D. Wayne Lukas so interesting, successful, controversial, and more:

Feeling for @skyracing race callers, that just had their careers & purpose instantly ended. Not right if this has all happened without notice, without transition opportunities. Committed for their providers. Years of learning just wiped. Life changing in the worst way!

Read my latest op-ed in today's @FinancialReview.
I have serious concerns about the illogical and unfair taxing of unrealised gains in superannuation proposed by @AustralianLabor, and the significant negative impact of this tax on the $4.2 trillion in superannuation assets in Australia.
