The story going around the paddock here is that #MotoGP will race in Qatar in November. This presumably means the Qatar & Abu Dhabi F1 races will also happen. Liberty Media's 2026 Q2 income dropped 38% due to losing Middle Eastern F1 races, due to the USA/Iran war, so it can't afford to lose them all. US DoS says: "Reconsider travel to Qatar due to risk of armed conflict." French MFA says "Stay completely clear of public gatherings." Good luck everyone! Photo: HRC

The #60 Meyer Shank Racing driver beat championship leader Jack Aitken (Action Express Racing / Cadillac) by 0.301s, with Dries Vanthoor third for BMW M Team WRT. Kevin Estre qualified eighth in the #6 Porsche, meaning title contender Laurin Heinrich will start four rows behind Aitken. Throttle warning for 909, it cleared on a hard reset but then reoccurred .. Porsche Techs recommended an engine out procedure which would have taken too much time so they retired. Committed to Kyalami 24 H
