Yes, I have a Patreon. If you're into the nerdier parts of rail maps and GTFS data that's too intense for here, you might want to subscribe. I'm also regularly posting my historic rail pics. It's free to follow me there, though you can upgrade to paid tier - but only if you want.
Exactly 40 years ago today, I was in William Street, Melbourne to photograph the unusual peak-hour-only tram routes that were withdrawn just a few weeks later. See all 20 pics on my Patreon at no cost patreon.com/railmaps/posts/1…

Some of the imagery here is priceless.
Recently, I spoke at the South Australian Business Index and had a conversation with Premier Peter Malinauskas. Someone described South Australia as a small state. That didn't sit well with my demographic mind. Almost two million people live in South Australia. Entire historical empires ruled over fewer people! But which empire would be the best match for SA? And what about the other Australian states and territories? Whenever a silly thought like this pops into my head, I write a column about it and call it work. The result is my latest column, a thoroughly unscientific tour of Australia's historical empires, complete with premiers reimagined as emperors and kings: buff.ly/wPf9DsV

It shouldn't surprise me by now that the practitioners of the dismal science at the AFR somehow find a way to write this story with storm clouds hanging over it.

Integrity Coachlines, who run long distance buses from Perth to Broome via Geraldton and the coast, and from Perth to Port Hedland via Meekatharra and Newman, has a livery that looks a heck of a lot like a 2010s VLine paint job. integritycoachlines.com.au
