This is what democracy should be: when an elected government doesn't work for the people, the people vote them out.
This is what should happen in the 2027 elections in Nigeria, APC kicked out everywhere. But my peopel do not know their power.

“I have been to the University of Chicago, and I met so many of President Tinubu’s classmates in person. He is literally a genius.”

There are old people that have been sleeping around PenCom in Wuse. They have been protesting for their pensions. So they sleep on concrete pavements, and on soil under the tree to wake up and protest the next day. Nigeria will strip you of dignity to the very end.

Jesus Christ.
My ancestors worked as indentured labourers under the British Empire in Mauritius in the 1800s.
Yes it was brutal and harsh.
And it gave my ancestors the chance to earn a wage, acquire property, receive an education and benefit from healthcare- all possible thanks to the British Empire.
We cannot keep teaching our young people a one-sided view of history.
I trace the history in my book, ‘Patriot: Empire, betrayal and hope’.

This country is so badly run that even if you are a sworn supporter of the APC you have to sometimes take a step back and worry about where our country is headed. How can a country where the vast majority are in poverty spend so much on SUVs. This shit is satanic

There’s a certain hatred, purely fueled by jealousy and malice, that you have for peers you perceive have achieved more than you which you think they don’t deserve. She does not owe you any explanation and her success shouldn’t be assumed to be without merit because of you.
Yesterday, I came across one of my female friends from the University of Nairobi (UoN) Law School. She is an Associate at a prestigious law firm in Kenya’s Wall Street. I asked her how she managed to rise to the top. Overcoming the tribal structures in big law firms and going against the belief that young advocates can’t secure positions there.
Her answer was interesting. She told me that it is more than just performance. For example, she was not at the top of her class. The best mark she scored in the CLE exams was a 62. She didn’t tell me what exactly helped her get the position. And surely it is not tribal connections, since she is a Luo in a firm dominated by Kikuyus. She still hasn’t given me a clear answer. It can’t even be performance, because she can’t confidently express herself.
The obvious ragebait campaign they’re running against this young lady is so awful

My own is that we need to stop shaming women for things like this. We lack secular third spaces in most of our cities, so social media plays a huge part in how we will meet and interact with people we date. A woman taking a chance to meet someone who's expressed interest in her isn't the problem. Put the blame where it belongs, on the man who caused harm.

I just need Nigerians to understand that ultimately, power resides with the people. But that power is only meaningful when we are willing to exercise it. One of the most fundamental ways to do that is by embracing our civic responsibility and showing up in our numbers to vote. We cannot keep surrendering that power through apathy and then wonder why things remain the way they are.

Women DON'T sexualise breastfeeding. It can be very painful, we get sore cracked, bleeding nipples & babies with teeth bite. We get back pain from breasts heavy with milk & embarrassment from leaking milk thro clothes. Mastitis is common & this is unpleasant & excruciating.

If you’d happily say you earn more than your wife, why does it become disrespectful when she says she earns more than you?
Expecting her to downplay her financial contribution or pretend she isn’t the higher earner just to protect your ego sounds like insecurity to me.

honestly no woman who has genuinely understood feminism has ever regretted it. if you think feminism is something women should feel embarrassed or regretful about, you probably never understood it in the first place. hope that helps.
I genuinely think a time will come when many women will regret supporting the version of feminism being glorified today.
And I’m not talking about equal rights, opportunities, or financial independence.
I’m talking about pseudo-feminism that teaches women they don’t need a man, compromising is weakness, making sacrifices is losing yourself, and that earning money means you should never have to adjust for anyone.
Where respecting your husband is called submission, putting effort into a relationship is considered desperate, and walking away is celebrated more than working things out.
And I think many women will realise how damaging this mindset was, perhaps in their late thirties or forties, when they look back and understand that they were taught to see partnership as a burden rather than something worth building.
I genuinely believe that day is not very far away.
