one of the weirder and funnier things about this WC is watching ppl try to turn Argentina, a country with a lower per-capita GDP than Mexico and preyed on by international finance for 3 generations, into some kind of global elite or regional superpower
And as to periodic fascistic right wing governments not sure why Brazil or Paraguay would escape that criticism either
I came here to remind everybody that Argentina's president looks like when Bilbo Baggins becomes evil with the ring plus some hair dye

*Zlatan on Messi missing the PK*
“Everyone misses PK’s. I’ve missed PK’s, Thierry has missed PK’s… Alexi was never asked to take PK’s so he couldn’t miss…” 😬😬
I get promotional emails from something called "Marriott Bonvoy" and it makes me think Marriott wants me to join a Convoy but they are Piru Bloods
okay Jay but it's been pretty widely established that your man stabbed Un and made you take the blame

Today marks the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. As we honor the 1.5 million Armenians murdered by the Ottoman Empire across modern-day Turkey, Syria, and Armenia, we must refuse to let history repeat itself.
In 2020, the military forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey attacked the Armenian population in Nagorno-Karabakh. In 2023, Azerbaijan expelled over 100,000 Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh, continuing the genocidal campaign that had begun over 100 years prior.
On this day of remembrance, we reaffirm the right of the Armenian people — and all people — to freedom, safety, and self-determination.
I’ve seen the trailer for Dutton Ranch 1,000 times in the last few weeks and I finally looked up the show it spun off from, Yellowstone, and reading the episode descriptions is hilarious. Also the new show is based on two of the rancho-s going to texas to beef with new rancho-s

Chamboi has said "kwaheri" (goodbye in Swahili) to his stable – and moved into a big boy bedroom!
Our growing orphaned black rhino - who turned two in September 2026 - reached a milestone recently when he moved into an open-air stockade.
The transition was no small undertaking – rhinos are creatures of habit and he would have happily remained in his baby stockade until he was quite literally bursting at the seams. By transferring some of the smells he knows – namely dung! – he settled into his new night-time accommodation seamlessly, spending his days roaming the bush with his Keepers.
Moments like this are critical to the process of raising rhinos, where the rearing part is actually far easier than the rewilding phase. Discover more: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/p…
