🎆 Last-minute opportunity: food vendor slot at the biggest Yaxley fireworks in years! 🎆 Due to a cancellation, we have one food vendor pitch available at the Yaxley Fireworks Night this Saturday, 7th November, at APG Park. It’s shaping up to be the biggest Yaxley fireworks display in some time, so expect a big crowd and a brilliant atmosphere. Burgers, pizza and clubhouse favourites are already covered, so we’d love to hear from traders offering something different. We’re especially keen on: 🍛 South Asian 🔥 BBQ / smokehouse 🌮 South American 🥢 East Asian Because of the site, your unit must be fully self-contained. There’s no mains power or hook-up at that spot, so you’ll need your own generator or power supply, plus your own water. 💷 No pitch fee. Instead, we’ll agree a percentage of sales with the successful vendor, payable directly to the organisers. Gates open to the public at 6pm, so you’ll need to be fully set up and ready to serve before then. To be considered, please have: ✅ A current food hygiene rating ✅ Public liability insurance ✅ Registration with your local authority ⏰ Deadline: close of play tomorrow, Tuesday 3rd November. If that sounds like you, or you know a trader who’d be perfect, tag them below 👇 And if you're the vendor, DM us right away! 💙🧡 #ItTakesAVillage

Huge thanks to Callum Reed, Vice Chair of our Youth & Junior section, for the wonderful work he's overseeing. Yesterday, more than 250 children and young people, plus their coaches and parents, came through the doors at APG Park and went home with smiles on their faces. Last night it was a full house again for our Junior Halloween party. Think back to February this year. The pitch was locked with chains, the building was closed, and the facility was in a poor state. Get the environment right, put the right people in place, and it's amazing what can happen. Hunts FA kindly reposted our news yesterday, but they got one thing wrong: this isn't down to a small group of volunteers. Yesterday's tournament had lots of club members and their partners pulling together. It was the same story at the kids' Halloween party, where Aaron, Vice Chair of the Adult Section, gave his time as the furry friendly APG Monster, but also brought decorations and props to get everything ready. We've also got a great team of staff in the building now, always ready to help and always with a smile. Someone once said the best leaders surround themselves with people who are bloody good at what they do, and then let them get on with it. The last 8 months have proved that rule true. Thank you, Callum, and thank you to everyone who made yesterday happen. If you're keen to be part of our growing community, send us a DM, we'd be happy to hear from you. Raph Frascogna Chair, Yaxley FC

LET'S TALK PROGRESS 📈 Three months into the new season feels like a good moment to take stock, and our form on the road shows where the progress has come. Last season, away days were tough. We played 19 league games away from home and didn't win any of them. Three draws gave us three points, and that was our total for the whole campaign. This season we've played six away league games so far. Two wins, one draw and three defeats have given us seven points, which is already more than double last season's away total. The last two of those trips were wins, 2-1 at Godmanchester Rovers and 2-1 at FC Peterborough on Wednesday night. The cups tell a similar story. Last season we won none of our five away cup ties. This season we've won one, drawn two and lost one from four. The win was 1-0 at Eaton Socon in the FA Vase. One of the draws was 2-2 at Wisbech Town in the FA Cup, which we won 5-3 on penalties. There's plenty still to do, and nobody at the club thinks the job is finished. But the squad and staff deserve credit for how they've gone about the early part of the season. Tomorrow we're back on the road at Northampton Sileby Rangers, 3pm kick-off. They beat us 2-0 on the opening day, and last November's 1-1 draw at their place was one of only three away points we picked up all season. That's two good reasons to travel and get behind the lads 💙🧡 Up the Cuckoos! #UpTheCuckoos #ItTakesAVillage 📸 @VuseUK
