Thank you for the kind words about my work over the years. I’ll be over bsky.app/profile/raphaelgero… if you’d like to keep in touch. 👋
Take Bob Dylan’s advice and check out Lon Chaney and Joan Crawford in Tod Browning’s “The Unknown” which is featured in the deluxe box set I designed for @Criterion!
I never thought I’d get to see my design for Original Cast Album: “COMPANY” tucked underneath Andrew Garfield’s chin in the @Criterion closet but sometimes dreams do come true. 👏
Very excited to see Luca Guadagnino’s QUEER at @TheNYFF.
I’m always especially thrilled to work on a project that includes an essay by @MarkHarrisNYC! 👀

November 2024 @Criterion titles have been announced and I was so happy to design the packaging for Peter Bogdanovich’s PAPER MOON (1973) starring Ryan O’Neal, Tatum O’Neal (the youngest-ever Oscar winner for her performance!), and the iconic Madeline Kahn.
I had never seen the film before and upon my first viewing of it, I was all in, and knew why the incredible @EricSkillman hired me for the project.
I haven’t designed something for myself in a while and I took a lot of photos at the *FIVE* @Madonna shows I attended in NYC, Chicago, and Miami so thought I could use them to make something special now that The Celebration Tour has come to an end!
For this first print, I wanted to start with the act where Madonna wears a dramatic taffeta cape that reveals a mirrored Versace catsuit with exaggerated shoulders that makes her look like an art nouveau, stained glass, popstar superhero, comic book character, and it’s fabulous.
I’ve included text from @thatonequeen’s amazing show introduction in the border and also featured lyrics from “Bedtime Story” which Madonna performs in this costume on a video game cube featuring dreamy landscapes.
I loved “Babylon” and just watched it again the other day. I wish there were more big checks written to people making something thoughtful and interesting rather than blockbuster drivel we’re supposed to pretend is even slightly meaningful. 😳

After seeing two fabulous shows at MSG, I left the tri-state area to see Madonna in Chicago and she gave us a snippet of “This Used To Be My Playground.” 🤯 #MadonnaCelebrationTour
