Kumbh Mela.
I did not pose this frame. I only waited for it.
A sadhu holds the chillum. Smoke uncoils across a face cut by years of sun, ash, and silence. One eye stays open. The other almost closes. The red cloth, the cracked skin, the white beard, the dark hand โ everything in this photograph is working at once. That is what stopped me. Not the ritual alone. The intensity sitting inside an ordinary second.
Shot on the ground at Kumbh. No studio. No lights. Just the man, the smoke, and the moment before it disappeared.

Drug addiction rarely begins with a desire to become addicted. It often stems from curiosity, peer pressure, stress, loneliness, trauma, or the search for acceptance and temporary emotional relief. Drugs hijack the brainโs reward system, gradually impairing judgment and self-control until dependence replaces choice. Recognising that addiction is both a psychological and social challenge, Operation Thunder has gone beyond enforcement by engaging psychiatrists, families, educators, and communities in open dialogue. Simply bringing this issue into public conversation has broken the silence, reduced stigma, and transformed drug abuse from a hidden problem into a community concern demanding collective action. #OperationThunder #DrugPrevention #SayNoToDrugs #YouthAgainstDrugs #MentalHealthMatters
