We are delighted to announce that Dr Natasha Hobbs-Lakin has been elected as Chair of the Psychiatric Resident Doctors’ Committee (PRDC) for the upcoming year. She will be supported by Vice Chairs Dr Harry Waterman and Dr PJ Wang who have been re-elected to the positions. Our PRDC Officers are now working on their strategy for the next year, making sure Resident Doctors across the UK are represented within RCPsych and that training continues to improve.
We would like to thank Dr Nermeen Ahmed, the outgoing Chair, for all her work over the past year.

We’ve formed a coalition with over 150 mental health organisations to call on financial institutions to improve mental healthcare across the world by making the funding they lend countries conditional on the development of a national cross-government mental health strategy.
There are cost-effective ways of addressing these challenges, as many mental health disorders are preventable and treatable. The earlier people receive support the less likely they are to become adults with long-lasting mental illnesses.
RCPsych President @subodhdave1 said: "Governments do not need to start from scratch. The Prague Agreement provides a framework for embedding mental health into national policy, supported by clear implementation plans and measurable commitments."
