Chatted with some 30ish Gwitchin & Inuvialuit men during golf, made a casual joke of Indigenous people playing golf and Oka. They had no idea what that was. I realize Oka was an eastern thing from the last century but it always seemed to be a seminal thing in Canadian FN culture.

pet peeve: author websites that list books/chapbooks but not publishers : why not give credit/sales? also: if ive never heard of you, knowing yr publisher(s) might provide context, etc,

Shame!
The math is simple: 6.8% is significantly less than 17.3%. The Ford government is critically underfunding education across this province and our kids are paying the price. #onpoli #OntEd

Aw, my heart bleeds for Galen. The price of doing business (as usual) I guess…
A part of our heritage.

"Residential school denialists tried to dig up suspected unmarked graves in Kamloops, B.C., report finds". I try to be a humourist and point out/celebrate the positive aspects of life, but there are some days when the Creator hits you in the nose with a rolled up newspaper.

Sudbury friends—signed copies of Emptying the Ocean are now available at Books and Beans on Elgin. Thanks to Liana Bacon for so passionately supporting Northern Ontario writers in a very committed and tangible way. Copies are $20, cash only, so be sure to save your pennies. ✨❤️

In Winnipeg this former Hudson’s Bay Building now belongs to the Southern Chiefs Organization inc. I love irony. I wonder what settlers will bring there to sell?

Things I learned on my writing retreat: 1. I really do love writing. 2. Writing well takes LOTS of time and energy. 3. Reading my work out loud is a key part of my process. 4. Ripe mangos fresh off the tree are always delicious.
