AI is just fucking incredible.
Weβre living in the greatest time period of human history and itβs only going to accelerate
Is there a way to create a global theme (preset colors and font) for a Google Workspace?
I want to be able to open any Doc, Slide, Sheet, or whatever and have our company's branding as the default Standard or Custom color options.
Stepping away is underrated.
Last year I stayed at a cabin to read, hike, and think for 3 days. Incredibly impactful.
This year I took off 21 through 26 for fam and have a 3 day cabin stay planned for next week for me.
Highly recommend if you can make it work.
I've treated the last week as a "think week", which is something Bill Gates practiced while running Microsoft as CEO.
From what I've read, he'd stay in a cabin and completely disconnect from work, the internet, and family. He'd just read, think, and write for 7 days.
I didn't take it that far β I spent most of the last week with family for the holidays.
But I did start reading a couple of books, and I have been taking long walks almost daily while recording a ton of thoughts (which are transcribed and sent to Notion with an automation I built).
I also stopped working, largely stayed off social media, and full deleted Twitter from my phone.
Results so far:
I now have extreme clarity on my business' direction for the next year:
- How we'll improve team processes and communication
- Content schedule and structure
- Overall goals
I'm also feeling refreshed and much more motivated than I did going into the holidays.
Perhaps most importantly, I'm feeling good about truly embracing my role as CEO in my company.
As we've grown to a 10-person team, I've largely resisted this βΒ but after this week, I'm ready to truly step up to the challenge.
I'm not sure that booking a cabin in the woods is needed (maybe I'll try it later this year), but I can say that what I've done has been incredibly helpful:
- Stepping away from the day-to-day grind
- Reading a lot (getting more inputs or "dots")
- Writing (in my case, talking) a lot
- Walking and spending time outdoors
This is likely something I'll continue doing each year, if not multiple times a year.
It's one of those I'm just trying to vacuum the house but my 1yo is running everywhere, behaving like a deranged lunatic and trying to deadlift a 10 lb bag of guinea pig food kind of mornings. π«
Currently at Sam's Club and they are playing All Star by Smash Mouth.
How is this a thing still? I thought I was in an elaborate meme or something for a minute...
Does the PeRfEcT sling bag exist???
Maybe.
As I continue to fall further down the rabbit hole of every day carry, my quest led me to finding the perfect sling bag. And if you know me at all, I do love a good bag.
If youβre looking for a solid sling bag this is what I found:
βBut Jeff, thatβs a lot of bags. Which is your favorite?β
I did a comical amount of research before buying my sling bags. And just because it works for me, doesnβt mean it will work for you.
THAT SAID, I settled on Greenroom136:
Some listening for my drive to Detroit.
