Asked my AI to trace 4 old docs URLs today.
Go: 301 to the same page on the new domain
React: 308 to the legacy archive
Vue 2 guide: 301 to the Vue 3 docs
Python 2: no redirect, still a 200
Four strategies, not one 404.
Moving your docs? Trace first: redirhub.com/mcp
This QR code was printed once. It has had three jobs.
Launch week: it opens the promo. Month 3: the setup guide. Month 9: a safety notice. Same box, same ink, zero reprints.
That's what a dynamic code on your own domain does. The box carries go.yourbrand.com/box, a pointer y
Two rebrands this week:
MGP Ingredients → Sempreon (Nov 2)
Blink Charging → Blink Energy (plan, announced today)
No new domains announced. Both old ones are clean today: one 301, then a 200.
Client rebrand moving domains too? One 301 per old URL.

Google's favicon docs, updated Oct 27: Googlebot must follow any redirects from your homepage to the page that sets the favicon.
bbc.com today: http → https → www → 200. Two hops, all crawlable.
Your favicon sits behind your redirects.

Verisign's .com wholesale price goes from $10.26 to $10.97 on Nov 1.
1,000 domains: +$710 a year at wholesale.
Before you renew, check each one:
• answers on https
• one 301, no chain
• lands on a 200
• still protects or earns something

Every branded link, QR code, and redirect in one dashboard. Track clicks, catch DNS issues before they hurt you, and keep your whole team in sync. That's link management done right.

ZEIT renamed itself Vercel in April 2020.
Six years on, we traced zeit.co/docs: one permanent redirect to vercel.com/docs, path kept, 17 ms.
That's the bar for a client rebrand: every old URL, 1:1, for good.

Verisign: .web sunrise opens mid-December. From mid-January, most .com owners can claim the matching .web.
Claiming it is step one. We traced 4 big brands' .net twins today, over https:
1 clean 301
1 temporary 302
1 no redirect
1 certificate warning

Thanks for the warm welcome, @caddyserver! Proud to support the open-source projects that help make the internet better. 💚
Since Oct 21, Chrome warns all users by default before opening a site without HTTPS.
Traced a retired brand domain today:
http: clean 301, but Chrome now asks first.
https: certificate not valid for the host.
Old domains need a valid certificate too.

Your redirects now live in Git.
The official RedirHub Terraform provider is out: redirects, site migrations, short links, QR codes and domains, all as redirhub_link and redirhub_domain.
Plan in a pull request. Apply on merge. Retried CI jobs create nothing twice.

PHP2Shell (CVE-2026-109618, CVE-2026-109619) is under attack. Patch PHP first.
Then check your domain list: how many old, typo or defensive domains keep a PHP host running just to send a 301?
A redirect-only domain needs DNS, not an app server.

Asked my AI to trace github.com from 3 cities.
Washington, D.C.: 5 ms
Frankfurt: 3 ms
Tokyo: 8 ms
One 301 to https, lands on a 200. The average redirect tested this week: 126 ms.
Same check from Claude, Cursor or Codex:
redirhub.com/mcp
Migration shortcut to avoid: sending every old URL to your new homepage.
Google may treat irrelevant redirects as soft 404s. Map each URL to a relevant replacement. If several pages were merged, use the consolidated page.
