Hold our working class actors in our hearts because there are so few getting through now.

#Poundland typical British story company sold for £1 to vulture capitalists who dissolve it to pick over the bones. British workers face massive job losses, the high street loses another business. If we cant afford Poundland we need to ask serious questions about what is happening.
Nice phrase "Labour is holiday from reality"
Britain is broke. The world is on fire. And we’re being given a few pennies off gherkins. Labour is on a holiday from reality. Burnham and Healey are apparently oblivious to the peril we are in
My @spikedonline column
This is grim. But representative of what is happening throughout the Country- we have a severe housing crisis & the consequence is ugly behaviour from profiteering. We can all wish it wasnt so but it is. I hope you are watching Mr Burnham. Life is grim at the bottom
This was always a difficult story but it did have to be told - now it wont be. The story was always about how elite Universities & elites in them use people as pet projects as long as they are grateful & fashionable. Isnt that a story worth telling?
Replying to @jgro_the
Recognition from fellow journalists is much appreciated as this is undoubtedly a difficult and polarising story, with a tragic outcome. Many people still do not accept its legitimacy but it was an important public interest story which sparked public debate about key issues of our age timeshighereducation.com/opi…
So Healey has added taxes to landlords without protecting the tenant AGAIN - the landlord passes on every penny of cost to the tenant. Wheres my #breathingspace? How long do you think private renters can go on with massive rent rises every year before it all implodes?
10 billion more for Ukraine - shouldn't we want this war to stop. Shouldn't there be an impetus to end this War not just pay for it until the last Ukrainian/Russian is dead. What's the end game? I fear its sending Europeans to that front line. And an infinity proxy war.
🚨 NEW: John Healey has announced Ukraine will receive £10bn in additional economic and military support

Five years ago, I appeared on a BBC Newsnight special with Katie Razzall, exposing the shocking reality of children being placed in unregulated accommodation, without proper safeguards, oversight or accountability.
We exposed a system that was failing its most vulnerable children. Since then, we've seen children abused, exploited by criminal gangs and, tragically, lives lost.
Five years later, we're still having the same conversations.
More reviews. More reports. More promises. Millions of pounds of taxpayers money spent, yet children continue to be failed.
How many more reviews do we need? How many more children must suffer? How many more lives must be lost before we finally act?
We don't need another conversation about change. We need change.
Enough is enough.
Brave woman - giving up her anonymity so the accused (her ex husband) can be named. All the men involved are pleading 'not guilty' scumbags. I hope they are battered in prison.
Four men, accused of sexually assaulting a woman who’d been drugged by her former husband, have appeared in court to stand trial.
Philip Young, a 50-year-old former Conservative councillor, has already pleaded guilty to drugging and assaulting his ex-wife Joanne, over a thirteen year period.
The four charged, Connor Sanderson-Doyle, Richard Wilkins, Norman Macksoni, and Mohammed Hassan, all deny committing sexual offences against Mrs Young.
This is sadly very true - I know couples who stay in miserable relationships because they cant afford to split up.
Being single in the UK right now is an absolute financial trap.
You pay 100% of the rent yourself.
You pay 100% of the council tax (that 25% single discount is a joke).
You pay 100% of the standing charges on gas and electric.
You pay the full Wi-Fi bill.
You pay for every single repair, subscription, and grocery shop alone.
It’s not even about finding love anymore.
People are actively dating just to find someone to split the bloody Wi-Fi with.
Mr Kumar & a group of other wealthy Oxford Phd students went on a campaign of accusing me of racism over ten years ago he had never met me but decided I was racist based on 2 articles I had written in the Guardian (you can still read them & judge for yourself). They ridiculed me bullied me on line for several years because of my class & that I was white & had a mixed race son referring to me as 'Becky' & because I had grown up on a council estate they laughed about me being rough, sexually promiscuous (Becky) & stupid all the white working class girl stereotypes. It is of no surprise that this man is now bullying a Jewish woman on television & is in fact responsible for the Greens racist turn.

So I wrote this about Nottingham being a failed City which it is I argue that when you have 1 group with too much power over too long a time whose tentacles reach into civil life it becomes corrupted. In this case Nottingham Labour group but in wider Nottinghamshire in Ashfield there has been an equal corruption with the Ashfield Independents- my conclusion is that our politics & institutions are rotten spiked-online.com/2026/10/18…
I thought the one that I did was much better #TFL
So we will now have a lucrative homeless industry on top of the children home industry, elderly care industry, refugee industry where the landlord & the NGO gets rich on public money & the public cant afford housing, heating or food. If this Government doesn't start bringing social services back into council control there's going to be real problems about legitimacy, democracy & fairness.
I honestly think I have PTSD about the amount of rapes & sexual assaults I am reading about. A month a go there was one every single day mostly Afghans & children & the last one actually broke me the couple on the first date. It makes me feel sick & anxious & I worry about the victim. Is that PTSD? because I feel so terrible about these attacks. I want the perpetrators to die. I'm being honest because its got into my head.
Queue the 'kill the pensioners' youth - people who have worked since they were 15 in manual jobs for 50 years are going to be allowed to live on 13k a year.
