It's finally here. NCrunch V5. Years of work, stress, sleepless nights, hope, and achievement. I can't believe we're finally shipping this. I can't wait to hear what everyone thinks of it blog.ncrunch.net/post/NCrunc…
I've just released NCrunch v5.23. This build primarily contains a fix to allow NCrunch to work with the just-released v4.0 of Xunit
Looking at the EU's CRA law (fully effective Dec 27), I'm wondering why I'm not seeing more alarm about it. It affects every non FOSS software app, and impact assessment suggests about 37k EUR up-front compliance cost. Seems to me most appstore apps are on a path to get deleted.
The law does not effectively discriminate between a tech giant and a teenager building a time keeping app. Both are required to comply. Must provide 5 years of free support (security related), and respond to threats within 24 hours. Non compliance risks fines up to 15M EUR.
NCrunch v5.22 is now available. The headline feature of this build is an MCP server allowing AI agents to interact with the engine. This works inside the IDE, or even in a headless mode allowing fully autonomous agents (OpenClaw, Hermes, etc) to write code with NCrunch!
It's been quite interesting to see what agents can do with a fully continuous test runner. See here for more info about the release: blog.ncrunch.net/post/NCrunc…
I've been making good progress on the MCP server for NCrunch. It's a rather interesting journey, designing an interface built exclusively for AI. When I ponder design questions, I find myself going to the customer (the AI!) and asking it what it would want.

NCrunch v5.21 is now generally available, adding support for Rider 2026.1, along with a new config setting to permit tighter CPU core control for tests running in parallel. Lots of fixes too
Support has also been discontinued for versions of VS older than VS2017. See here for more details - blog.ncrunch.net/post/Core-C…
NCrunch v5.20 is now available. This release adds support for Rider 2025.3 and Xunit 3.2, and also includes some other performance and stability fixes.
NCrunch v5.19 is now live. This is a maintenance release, adding support for .NET 10 and MSTest v4. Also some important fixes for Xunit 3 and Rider integration.
NCrunch now supports Visual Studio 2026! Not really sure what more there is to say. Installer is up on the download page. Go crunch some stuff with it! blog.ncrunch.net/post/Visual…
NCrunch v5.17 has just been released. This includes an important fix for NUnit v4.4, where exceptions weren't being reported due to a subtle change in NUnit. Also includes some compatibility improvements for MSTest.
I've just published a maintenance release for NCrunch. This is mostly stability fixes for Rider integration and a few other bits. Most significant is fixed impact detection for xunit v3
Also noteworthy is that this build introduces support for JetBrains Rider 2025.2, which has just hit RC state and will probably hit its full release soon.
