My Budget today will help families with the pressures they face now.
It will back businesses and entrepreneurs, invest in Britain's future, and strengthen our national security.
A plan to get through this moment and build a stronger Britain.
Did John Healey just say “take the piss waiting lists?” 🤭 #Budget2026

Adverts were way better back in the 1980s & 1990s.
Case study: Gregor Fisher. Photo booth. Comb-over. Hamlet cigar.
Good advertising was a cigar called Hamlet.

Hard to overstate how significant that speech was in terms of a new policy agenda and political direction for the country. So many big issues on which he has kicked off a national conversation. Also extremely well crafted and well delivered, at times very moving. Apart from the Swinney quote and a ref to johnson and Truss I don’t think he mentioned any of the other parties. They would be wise to think carefully before rushing to judgement on it.
Absolutely loved talking all things folk horror, repeated cycle of intolerance and…signing that skull 💀🧌👻
This time on Dead Northern Shot Cuts we’re meeting the filmmakers behind ‘Vowels’, ‘MUFF’ and ‘A Hand to Hold’, three shorts that find very different reasons to put their characters through the genre wringer. Read it here: lovehorror.co.uk/interview/1… #interview

I'm sorry we never got a chance to meet, but getting this note from Dolly really had a an impact on me. She definitely didn't have to take the time to do it. Even for a kid who mostly listened to rap music, she was an icon. A superstar in every sense. Rest easy Dolly. And thank you for the kind words.
"Even if I got 12%, 1 in 8 people in Clacton would rather vote for a space warrior shaped like a bin than Nigel Farage. That would be interesting, wouldn't it"

🚨 WATCH: Count Binface responds to Nigel Farage calling him the "establishment candidate"
"That's interesting, isn't it? Because one of the candidates was a sitting MP, formerly an MEP and the architect of Brexit... if that's not the establishment, I'd like to know what is"
Well this is rather lovely. 🖤🔪
MUFF has been nominated at the Horrorific Women Film Festival!
So happy our spooky little comedy-horror continuing its adventures - especially being recognised by a festival celebrating women in horror.
Being ghosted can have its advantages…👻

This photo takes me right back. Working as a home carer for Stockport Council.
It was my first proper job. A special job. But one of the toughest I've ever done.
I know what it’s like to wash someone, cook for them, and make time to actually listen to them before rushing off to the next call with the clock ticking.
I know how it feels to graft hard day and night doing tough, physical shifts for wages I struggled to get by on.
That's why I've always fought for a fairer deal for social care.
And I'm proud we started laying the foundations for change through the Employment Rights Act with the framework for the first ever fair pay agreement for adult social care workers.
But that’s also why the Prime Minister's announcement today matters so much.
A National Care Service could be genuinely transformative.
For decades, governments have kicked this issue down the road because they have seen it as too risky, too difficult and too complicated.
That changes today.

Lovely. Reminds me of the old joke about three elderly ladies, all hard of hearing, driving through North London in their Morris Minor.
1st lady: Is this Wembley?
2nd lady: No, it's Thursday.
3rd lady: So am I. Let's stop for a cuppa.

Andy has wasted no time in tackling the cost of living.
This week Labour have announced that we'll be cutting VAT from electricity bills, capping bus fares at £2, and cutting rates for pubs and clubs by 20%.

I am delighted to have accepted the position of Secretary of State at the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government.
Andy Burnham's vision of good growth in every postcode demands we build on the foundations we have already laid to bring the change we have promised.
I look forward to returning to government with renewed drive and determination to put power back in people’s hands - and hope back in our hearts.
Impressive already that @andyburnham is giving a clear directional speech without notes. And straight down the barrel of the lens too.
