The pattern is unmistakable. Every time the government tries to spend to make something more affordable, it just raises the cost. Look at this chart every time a socialist promises they will spend their way out of our affordability crisis.

I am speechless. Thomas Aquinas College just dropped a study on the rigor of the new SAT. It compares the 1980/87 test with 2026. The findings should terrify every parent and teacher... Vocabulary has collapsed. Old SAT: 70.6% of questions tested vocab. New SAT: 15%. The old test forced students to know a wide range of words through analogies, antonyms, and sentence completions. The new test abandoned that. Most vocab questions now just ask students to fill in one blank from context. Reading passages also got radically shorter (average ~97 words vs 300–340). The new test uses short expository passages and hands you the necessary background knowledge inside the text. The older tests leaned much more heavily on argumentative and persuasive writing, assumed far more historical, scientific, and cultural knowledge, and penalized students who lacked it. This is a redefinition of what "college readiness" means. If you believe that kids should develop rigorous vocabulary, be capable of sustained reading, and possess background knowledge, I have bad news for you. The SAT no longer measures these. If you want a future where children can actually read difficult texts and construct complex arguments, the SAT must be replaced now. This cannot go on.
We were concerned that the SAT has become a less reliable measure of student preparedness for a rigorous college curriculum. So, we commissioned a study from Johns Hopkins University. What does this study tell us about the state of higher education? The results are shocking. thaq.co/4iLThZ0

This apology was disgusting. And again, God's word tells us to pray for ALL those in authority. (1 Timothy 2:1-4) It doesn't put conditions on whether we agree with them or not.
Milwaukee’s archbishop walked into the Oval Office and bowed his head with the president. Three days later, after the backlash, he called his own prayer ‘manipulated’ and said he was sorry. Get the full opinion piece from @JustinEPhillips diving into the "controversy" here: ow.ly/yywY51013mA

The point of no return by Richard von Mises is worth reading: "A state becomes almost unreformable when the majority of the population is financially or structurally dependent on the state (state employees, civil servants, recipients of subsidies, grants, or transfer payments, etc.). As soon as those who net benefit from or are supported by the state outnumber those who do not, the system blocks reforms, since the majority votes out of self-interest for the preservation or expansion of state services." Does this sound familiar? Some European countries, France, Belgium, Finland are already way beyond that point, closely followed by Germany, Spain, Austria and Italy. It works for a while, as long as markets buy more sovereign debt at reasonable interest rates. The party ends when they stop though. For France, they stopped this month, Belgium will be next. The longer the socialist illusion persists, the more painful the inevitable cuts and adjustments will be. It’s pure arithmetic. Good luck Europe, good luck Euro. Buckle up, it won’t be pretty.

If any @WisDems can convince me to vote no on the 3 ballot questions, I'm all ears. Go ahead, you've got the floor.

As France is burning, I keep thinking of what the UAE Foreign Minister said a few years ago 👇 He accurately predicted this.

Make no mistake. What’s going on in France is exactly what the Democrats want to bring here.

Here's a blatant falsehood: “Almost 75% of the economy of the state comes from here…Milwaukee County” On @620wtmj Steve Scaffidi illustrated clearly how the self-image of Milwaukee is at odds with reality. And how they look down on the rest of state due to a misplaced self-aggrandizement. In fact about 17% of state GDP, 17% of jobs and 16% of people are from Mke Co. In contrast fully half Wisconsin's violent crime is in Milwaukee. And remember, they are a net recipient of tax dollars- to the tune of a billion dollars each year over the tax revenue generated by the county's economy and taxpayers.

It’s always crazy to me how a .45 cent per gallon gas increase can cost a political party control of Congress, but an additional $1500 dollars in public school property taxes isn’t enough to get people to question their school boards.

Madison is the third most liberal Metro in America. Further to the left than places like Seattle, Portland and Los Angeles. Yikes.

David Crowley’s administration is requesting a 26% property tax hike for 2027. When asked if he’d raise Milwaukee County taxes for the seventh year in a row, he laughed and said, “You will see it when we release it.” We cannot afford @DavidCCrowley’s tax hikes statewide.

Cancelling beer gardens is just as bad as cancelling Thanksgiving, imo.
David Crowley says beer gardens contribute to “racial inequity” because they are “predominately supported by white users.” Since when did enjoying a cold one become about race?

Bill Maher just delivered the PERFECT case for ELMINATING almost EVERY welfare program in the U.S.: “We're still giving [money] away. How else are the 40% of adult Americans who don't work supposed to live? Yeah, did you know that? That roughly 60% of Americans work and 40% what's the word, don’t?” “Including 6M working-age men who don't work and are not looking. No getting on LinkedIn for them. They're home playing Call of Duty at 11 in the morning.”

A landmark Finnish study has found a sharp rise in psychiatric illness among adolescents following sex-alteration procedures. The peer-reviewed study, published in Acta Paediatrica, tracked every young person under 23 who contacted Finland's gender clinics between 1996 and 2019. A total 2,083 individuals were studied, with 16,643 matched controls. They were followed for up to 25 years. Finland's health registers are mandatory, which means no one opts out — this is the complete national picture. The numbers: psychiatric morbidity rose from 9.8% to 60.7% in adolescents who underwent feminising reassignment, and from 21.6% to 54.5% in masculinising reassignment. Even after adjusting for prior psychiatric history, gender-referred adolescents faced five times the risk of male population controls, and three times the risk of female controls. "Psychiatric needs do not subside after medical gender reassignment," the authors concluded. Referrals after 2010 arrived sicker. 47.9% had already needed psychiatric treatment before their first clinic visit, against 15.3% among controls. The authors' read: for some adolescents, gender distress may be secondary to other mental health challenges. The evidence keeps mounting. The silencing continues anyway. How many more adolescents will be told this is "care"?
