What is RESULTS?
RESULTS is a movement of passionate, committed, everyday people. Together we use our voices to influence political decisions that will bring an end to global poverty. Working with @ACTION_tweets we advocate on global health+wider international development issues
May's Ebola outbreak has made clear a stark truth: we are not ready for the next pandemic.
Sadly, we all know the consequences of pandemics, yet we're still not doing enough to prepare and prevent.
That's why the UK Government must invest in organisations like @CEPIvaccines
What does pandemic preparedness mean?
🧑⚕️ It means investing in research & development
🌍 It means building are strong, equitable health systems around the world
⚖️ It means ensuring fair access to new treatments and vaccines – something painfully exposed during covid

10,000 cases of Ebola, and nearly 5,000 deaths. Each loss devastating a community.
The UK will not turn its back.
We’ve invested in research for vaccines, tests and treatments, and pledged £78m to help save lives and stop further spread, through the DRC and Africa-led response.
🎄 Our Christmas appeal is here!
We’re calling on the UK government to take action on poverty and invest in global health.
We’re campaigning for CEPI to help prepare for future pandemics.

The UK is on course to fall £410m short of its reduced aid target of just 0.3% of GNI by 2027.
Behind these figures are real people: children missing school, communities without clean water and people without life-saving vaccines.

The UK has a responsibility to help end poverty. We can all play a part in holding our government to account.
📢 Speak to your MP and urge them to champion poverty eradication and call on the government to meet its aid commitment.

Yesterday we brought together experts and advocates for a webinar on why a whole-of-society approach is essential to ending TB.
From people-centred care to community participation, the message was clear: ending TB takes action beyond healthcare.
#EndTB #GlobalHealth
Conflict, rising food prices and climate change are pushing vulnerable communities deeper into poverty.
The UK must work with global partners to strengthen health and nutrition financing and ensure the world’s poorest communities aren’t left behind. #EndPoverty

Great to see this recognition of the heavy #debt burden on developing countries.
My Debt Relief Bill would compel private creditors to accept the same terms as other lenders and reduce the burden for the poorest countries.
The world needs this now 🌎👇

It's great to see @Ed_Miliband addressing the role of debt repayments in limiting global equality efforts!
But more can be done, particularly looking at the role of illicit financial flows and the UK's role as a hotbed for illicit finance.

The Government's decision to cut funding for @GPforEducation will ultimately be felt by children.
That means fewer children in school, more girls girls at risk of child marriage and a more uneven world now and into the future.
@kirstyjmcneill and @Ed_Miliband still have time to limit that damage by offering top-ups on the current pledge.
