Hi everyone!
I never thought I would get to be someone who does one of those really cool personal announcements - but... here I am!
I wanted to let you all know that as of today, I am officially a Basketball Data Analyst for the Washington Mystics.

Using MLB's league-equivalency structure on three point shooting w/ bayesian hierarchical modeling. 3-pt volume acts as a prior for players shooting percentages.
Gives an idea of where a draftee was last year with their shooting rather than where they will be in the future:
For @SwishTheory
Depending on how much time I've got, may do a write-up on specifics with the metric.
PJ Tucker wants out of LA
“I want to be somewhere where I’m needed, wanted and can do it all. I don’t know what’s going to happen but I have my fingers crossed and I’m hoping to go somewhere else whether I get bought out and choose where I go or where I can play,”

Otto Porter is a year younger than JC and two years younger than Olynyk. Less than a year older than Dunn. He was solid for the Warriors less than two years ago in a championship run, then was signed to a wing-addicted Masai Raptors team. Who says career revival isn't possible?
• I guess the counterpoint is that when you realize that the ceiling for a player is "solid starter" for a team that's still searching, it's better to play on the higher ceiling of a draft pick.
• I really like the trade for Toronto. I credit Kelly for Lauri development most
What's crazy is that even with an injury reserve or two, we're looking at Sabonis, Fox, Harden, Gobert, Chet, Wemby, Zion, Ingram, and Kyrie alongside Lauri. Just such a tough spot in the West right now.
Here's a fun scenario for the Jazz trade deadline:
• Move Olynyk to Rockets for Green (buyout) & 2 SRP's
• Reroute SRP's with Clarkson to NYK for DAL '24 FRP, Grimes, and Fournier (buyout)
• Use cap space + expiring contracts to save GS from CP3 contract for 2025 swap rights.
Rockets get a solid big to pair with Sengun for just two SRP's
Knicks losing a FRP + QG doesn't hurt as bad with two SRP's coming back
GSW get out of cap hell, don't add on long contracts
Jazz come away with a passer for Lauri, 10M more in '24 cap than before, first, swap, Grimes
