My politics are:
When Republicans do something I like, I like it.
When Republicans do something I don't like, I don't like it.
Same for Dems.
The Republican party has traditionally stood for more things I like. So I align more with Republicans.
But I'm not blindly loyal to the Republican party. They do crap all the time I very much dislike.
I'm loyal to my values.
That's the only reasonably way I've found to do politics. Anything else is tribal sport-gameism.

Bob Casey Sr told a story from when he was running for reelection in 1990. He stopped for gas in rural PA and went inside to give the clerk a brochure. The clerk said "I'm voting for you."
When Casey asked why, the clerk said "I'm sure you'll be better than whoever we have now."

Conservatives have principles. One of those principles is to vote for the guy who aligns with me politically. If the guy’s a Republican yet doesn’t represent me politically, why would I vote for him just because he’s a Republican? That’s no better than voting for the Democrat.

I love when Trump supporters say you have to vote Republican even though you didn’t get “everything you wanted.”
It sounds a lot better than saying “you have to vote Republican even though they lied you into an unwinnable war of aggression, on behalf of a foreign nation, after promising not to.”

In 2026, an objective assessment of @ByronDonalds could include “flipped parties, flipped positions, won’t debate.”
It’s not that @ByronDonalds wasn’t within his right to change his mind and refuse to debate, but if it’s not only his right, but what he chose to do, then why is @DavidJollyFL doing the same thing that @Billhelmich thinks should be disqualifying?
I hope there is a huge mirror at wherever the Byron Donalds election night reception is, because I want my party to see why the results are what they are.

Some of @DavidJollys’s opinions have changed. That’s fair game. But @ByronDonalds Gulf-drilling hit conveniently skips what happened next: in Congress, David Jolly voted for extending the eastern Gulf drilling ban and co-sponsored an amendment blocking federal money from even studying offshore drilling there.
Meanwhile, Byron spent this year defending the Iran war as somehow consistent with @realDonaldTrump’s “no new wars” message. 🤔
Changing positions is apparently a character indictment when David Jolly does it and “dealing with reality” when @TeamTrump does it.
And speaking of 180s, where’s that “enacting @realDonaldTrump’s Agenda” as the top campaign issue for the @ByronWarRoom website? 👀
