💻When we think of RIs, we often picture laboratories, synchrotrons or supercomputers. However, one of the most important RIs is data itself.
🌐A great example is the newly launched European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Federation.

📢Great news from the Solaris Centre!
An international team of researchers from Autonomous University of Madrid has developed multifunctional gold-iron nanoparticles with potential applications in medical imaging and light-based therapies.
Researchers performed X-ray absorption spectroscopy measurements at the ASTRA beamline at the SOLARIS Centre. The synchrotron experiments revealed that the nanoparticles contain a mixture of metallic iron and various iron oxide phases. This finding is particularly important because the chemical state of iron directly influences the material’s magnetic properties, stability, and overall functionality.
The results also highlighted the importance of controlling oxidation processes during the synthesis and storage of the nanoparticles, which may contribute to the further optimization of these nanostructures.
