The version of It Makes No Difference The Band played at The Last Waltz has become a classic. Rick sang his heart out and Garth appeared beside him at the end of the song to play his sax solo. It’s one of those glorious moments of the concert, one that we wish could last forever.

Remembering Grateful Dead legend Bob Weir, whose musical path crossed with The Band for decades. From the legendary rails of the 1970 Festival Express tour to the massive crowd at the Summer Jam at Watkins Glen in 1973, they shared some incredible moments in rock history.
In this clip from the 2011 Gathering of the Vibes festival, Weir performs a rousing version of "Deep Elem Blues" alongside The Levon Helm Band. Rest In Peace. 🕊️

On this day in 1970, TIME featured The Band on its cover. The article highlighted their unique impact on rock, noting that their music moved "away from sophistication to earthy, honest qualities in life".
Which of The Band's songs do you think best captures that spirit?
RIP Bobby Weir 💔
Over the years, Rick and Bobby crossed paths often. In 1983, The Band played at The Grateful Dead's New Year's Eve concert at the San Francisco Civic Auditorium. For the third set, Rick and Maria Muldaur joined the Dead for a rendition of Goodnight Irene.
Happy heavenly birthday, lovely Rick! 🎁
Born on this day in 1943, Rick would have turned 82 today.

On this day in 1971, The Band walked onto the stage at the Academy of Music in New York City with a specific mission. They wanted to capture their live sound at its absolute peak.
Over the course of four nights, they transformed the old opera house into a rock and roll sanctuary. With a massive horn section arranged by Allen Toussaint and an electric energy in the room, these shows became the definitive document of their live power. #AcademyOfMusic71

It's the saddest day of the year for Rick Danko Page. Rick passed away on this day in 1999. We love you, Rick.♥️
Carol Caffin, Rick's publicist, wrote these beautiful words included on the memorial card: "On the day Rick Danko was born, the angels sang. Rick sang harmony."

Not feeling the Christmas spirit yet? Let Rick Danko help with that. Here's a live performance of “Christmas Must Be Tonight” from the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, NJ, on December 17, 1977. He brought extra energy to the song, originally released on Islands earlier that year.

"By doing something positive in this world, you're helping people and the future. We're all trying to help the world... make it a better place to live. We're actually still changing the world, aren't we?" - Rick Danko
Remembering Rick Danko, who passed away on this day in 1999. His voice carried a distinct tremor that gave The Band its emotional weight, while his bass playing skipped across the beat. From the basement at Big Pink to The Last Waltz stage, Rick played with pure heart.
Happy #DankoDylan Saturday!
