What you have to understand is that because of EA's new massive debt load, predictability is more important than ever. EA needs predictable annual cash flow to service its debt. So a Battlefront 3 that hits its deadlines is more valuable than a Mass Effect that will likely be delayed multiple times.
It wasn't much of a decision which game to save if given a choice. The Bioware Activists had already burned down the projects they were working on.
Technically you don't need to wait for Mass Effect 5. The original senior creative director & studio director/GM left Bioware when they saw the wokification. They are producing Exodus which will be miles ahead of where this studio was headed. SciFi based with great based writers.
I did a search on Life is Strange 2 & why woke. The narrative allows Sean to explore bi-curious or bisexual/pansexual paths, marking a shift toward non-monosexual male representation for a protagonist of color. When I have to look up words, I know the game is ideological slop.

People believe that by celebrating or praising company layoffs, we are "defending sales" in place of "defending quality."
Bitch, we ARE defending quality. The lesser sales happened because we CHOSE not to buy it, because of a noticeable drop-off in quality.
And lesser sales are what most often lead to layoffs. We've repeatedly warned and told you guys this would happen. All of you arrogantly mocked "boycotts" and threw week 1 sales in our faces like it was some huge gottem, failing to see the forest for the trees.
I don't know how else to put this, guys. If you still think it's complicated, you're just coping. When you make games that cater to 2-5% of the global population or to chase some imaginary "more diverse audience." When your games are made in whole, or in large part to spite 68-85% of the "gamer" audience... you're going to lose a large chunk of your consumers.
Game developers are not the untouchable microcelebrities they seem to believe they are. Their arrogance blinds them, and they unironically believe there will be no consequences for them failing at their 1 and only jobs. They don't understand or care about the most simple, basic, fundamental arguments like "the customer is always right" or "reputation matters."
And now they're paying the price.

Hey @alyssa_merc & Nick Calandra who blocked me already apparently y'all are saying on bluesky I lied about getting a code from Square-Enix for Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles so here's the proof.
Here's my Rainmaker profile, as you can see I got codes for FFXVI, Rebirth, Dai, Midnight Suns & lo & behold Final Fantasy Tactics. I got denied some too which is no big deal, it is what it is, so no I'm not lying & you are lying about me.
I know it sucks you got laid off from Kotaku but keep my name outta your mouth. And Nick Calandra is a liar already cause his own coworker ousted him but this is low even for you guys.
Anyway there's your 100% proof I got my code from Square-Enix, I didn't lie then buy the game & claim that I did. Cause if I did do that, Square would've likely commented on my post, which they have not.

See here is proof that Marathon is not a good game. This was released this year and cost close to $300 million to make and close to $100 mil in advertising. For anyone still in denial, where is Marathon in the top awards for video games. 12 games listed & no Marathon.

I haven't seen more than a few people like you on twitter squawking. The overall response has been cheering from what I have seen. I get it. You have an ideology fixation, but it isn't much. Saw the same with Star Trek and Star Wars woke series. No win there. Give up. It is over.
You know how you know that most people don't want these games? They are asking for the government to support these studios that get cut because they were nonprofitable. In the U.S. we got rid of a lot of this with DOGE. Canada is corrupt enough to do it. Social engineering.
Everyone is referring to back in the early years. The fact that the last 5 years have been garbage at Bioware is never mentioned. I wonder why?
