Why are some vehicles in Abuja displaying Nigerian number plates over foreign plates?
The ICIR investigated the growing trend and found a security and legal question hiding in plain sight.
Under Nigeria's road traffic regulations, vehicles are required to display their assigned Nigerian registration plates.
Yet #TheICIR observed commercial vehicles in Abuja with foreign registration plates visible underneath their Nigerian plates.
