What are you willing to lose to keep Christ?
Earthly life feels urgent. Eternal life is actual.
"Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth." Col 3:2
Cling to this world and you lose both. Cling to Christ and you keep what cannot die.
Congress flipped the same week churchgoers flunked the Bible. Not a coincidence.
If we don't care what God has said, we won't be what He's called us to be. Illiteracy feeds unrest, apathy, and hatred toward God.
"A famine... of hearing the words of the LORD." Amos 8:11

Laws without converted hearts are a paper shield.
"How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard?" Rom 10:14
Preach the gospel. That is how a nation gets more Christians.
Worship is not the prize for a good news week.
"Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name." Heb 13:15
Ballots rise and fall. The praise of Christ does not.
Worship doesn't have to wait for good news. Read the article here:

Can a nation vote its way out of a sordid mess? Tom is right. It can't.
"Oh that you would rend the heavens and come down." Isa 64:1
Revival has never come by ballot. It comes when God's people repent and pray, and the Spirit works through His Word.
America is in a sordid mess. We cannot vote our way out of it. For the last 3 years on the 1st Wednesday of the month @gracebaptist has observed a day of prayer & fasting for reformation & revival in our nation.
Join us. Ask God to rend the heavens & revive His work among us.

Who gets a Christian's loyalty after a night like this? Not a party. Not a politician. Not even a nation, first.
"We must obey God rather than men." Acts 5:29
Love your country, pray for its leaders, vote your conscience. Your first allegiance belongs to the risen King.
How do you spot false worship in real time? Know the Word before the music starts.
Worship that celebrates sin isn't gospel music. "Those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth" (John 4:24).
Churches that skip the Book can't tell the difference.
A new survey indicates Christians have succumbed to the general literacy crisis of the culture. The ‘people of the Book’ don’t read it.
@JenniferWilkin says this indicates one big thing: the church's failure of dscipleship—a failure we must urgently address!

Is death just part of the circle of life? Scripture calls it an enemy.
"The last enemy to be destroyed is death." 1 Cor 15:26
Death entered through sin, and Christ walked out of His tomb to prove its days are numbered. For those in Him, the grave is a doorway, not a dead end.
We often think of death as natural, and it is to the extent that it is inevitable. But in another very important sense, death is unnatural. Death became a reality for humanity because of sin.

Who decides when a human life is worth protecting? Not a ballot.
With an abortion initiative before Virginia voters, remember God settled it first: "For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb." Ps 139:13
Every child is His handiwork.
Who really rules America after Election Day? Whoever wins, the answer stays the same.
Jesus: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me" (Matt 28:18).
Vote. Then sleep like someone whose King was never on the ballot.
So hold every politician loosely. "Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation" (Ps 146:3). Salvation was never up for a vote. Christ finished it at the cross.
Is Jesus truly God, or an exalted angel, a lesser god? Hebrews 1 lets the Father answer.
"But of the Son he says, 'Your throne, O God, is forever and ever'" (Heb 1:8).
Angels are commanded to worship Him (Heb 1:6). He is "the exact imprint of his nature" (Heb 1:3).
