🚨NFA GUIDANCE UPDATE🚨
From the Trump Administration’s latest filing in GOA’s case Silencer Shop v. ATF:
“@TheJusticeDept has determined not to file an appeal” in this case. Separately, @ATFHQ is currently working to finalize public guidance regarding the NFA.”
🚨BREAKING🚨
Solicitor General John Sauer just notified Congress “that @TheJusticeDept [will not] file an appeal” in GOA’s victory against the NFA, Silencer Shop v. ATF.
ATF cannot force GOA members to register suppressors or short barrels EVER AGAIN. This is PERMANENT! 🇺🇸

BREAKING: In a 2-1 vote, the Fifth Circuit ruled that the federal ban on direct interstate handgun sales violates the Second Amendment.
“The civilian AR-15 .223/5.56 is not ‘most useful’ in military service; it is not used in military service at all.”
Ummmmmm.......
Two firearms and ballistics experts and several law professors have filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in two cases challenging bans on so-called “assault weapons.” Read the full article here -> 2ckieh.s.gy/xvL1Sf
The SG gets the result right, but concedes too much. The Constitution does not protect the AR-15 because it is less military than an M16. Miller points the other way, suitability for militia service supports protection.
Cargill defines “machinegun” by statute… it doesn’t draw the Second Amendment’s boundary.
Military utility is not a constitutional disqualifier.
Replying to @2AFDN
Don't love this portion, but it isn't surprising. They still are expected to defend federal laws like the machinegun ban.
The MN Gun Owners Law Center, @mnguncaucus & @CSSA1926 (with heavy support from @FuddBusters) filed at SCOTUS today in Viramontes.
The AR-15’s military origin is “not a constitutional embarrassment to be explained away.” It confirms the rifle belongs among the ordinary, bearable arms the Second Amendment protects.

The Second Amendment protects bearable arms effective for individual and collective defense. Its military lineage and civilian popularity place the AR-15 squarely within that tradition.
The scope of an enumerated constitutional right cannot depend on which side of a state line an American happens to stand.
