No it doesn’t . You got the context wrong from the start .
1/2 .@antonybeevor Last week in the Spectator I noted that 'Dissent is dismissed as treachery ...The question of how Britain benefits from stoking war with Russia is never debated.' Here, in his letter to the magazine, Sir Antony Beevor proves my point:

Defence a real shit show now !
Replying to @LukePollard
As you suffocate the armed forces with cuts to day to day running costs next year.

What ? More cuts , restrictions on training on the way it seems . The Navy suffers from the frigate famine , no SSN is capable of operations . The allies are dismayed. How many destroyers and frigates are fully operational? A question Healey and Streeting have not deigned to answer as SofS
Breathing space for today, fresh hope for the future. Well done John. 🌹🇬🇧

No : it conceals the dire situation with the Astutes - none active at present 4 alongside in Devonport and Faslane , one entering Dock 15 , one on constructor’s trials, one still being built. Then the frigate famine , only 4 sort of working, almost all 5 T23 knackered - but don’t get me going .
🚨 Three of the UK’s four nuclear deterrent submarines are out at sea, it is understood. It is not clear why but at least one of the boats will be armed with nuclear warheads and on routine patrol. An expert said one of the other Vanguard-class submarines would likely be working up to take over the patrol, while the third could be undergoing sea trials. The Ministry of Defence declined to comment. @larisamlbrown first broke this story in @thetimes The unusual deployment of most of the fleet indicates improved availability, which has been a problem for the Royal Navy’s submarine service in recent years. It will doubtless be noticed by the UK’s enemies.

Moreover it’s too neat : putin and trump paragons of perspicacity and humanitarian good will ?
Trump’s deal with Putin for diesel, is bigger than most people think. It cut the legs out from under the EU and Zelensky to keep the war going. The war is being FORCED to an end because the EU cannot afford to pay for a war, with no help from the U.S. When Trump made a deal with Putin for diesel, he exposed the EU’s hypocrisy because they have purchased natural gas from Russia throughout the war. Funding both sides. Trump cut off aid to Ukraine and is now funding Russia. He welcomes the “criticism” from the media and the neocon military industrial complex. Why? Because he holds the “evidence,” proving that Zelensky and his cronies have stolen half the taxpayers money given to them. That exposure is coming and it will FORCE an end to the war. But that’s only part of what Trump is doing. This Russian “deal” is strategic for the future. Think much bigger. Trump is setting up the world, for the greatest economic expansion ever. It’s going to be far greater than anybody can imagine and it will also happen very quickly. If massive economic expansion is the goal, what does the world need? A massive “expansion” in “cheap” energy, minerals and resources. Trump’s team working behind the scenes, have been making trade deals involving very important “resources.” Now here comes a story, where the curtain is being peeled back, to reveal a much bigger deal coming with Russia. “Putin's top aide Yury Ushakov confirmed after Steve Witkoff's latest meeting with Putin that "Other large-scale joint economic projects, which offer significant prospects for bilateral cooperation, were also discussed in detail; some of them are now nearing the implementation stage." This followed Putin courting the return of US investment to Russia's resource sector in early 2025 and Kirill Dmitriev recently confirming talks on nuclear-powered data centers.” Don’t miss these two important data points: “some of them (deals) are now nearing the “implementation” stage” “Putin courting the return of US “investment” to Russia's resource sector in early 2025” They have been working on these resource “deals” since early in Trump’s second term and they are now nearing “implementation.” Not “sales” to the U.S. Shared “investments.” Do you understand how important these trade deals with Russia are? Trump is destroying the cabal’s generational narrative, that Russia is our enemy. At the same time, he is destroying the neocon military industrial complex theft of taxpayers money and fear of war. A U.S. and Russian alliance, centered around massive trade deals and cooperation, ends the propaganda fear narrative needed to promote constant war. Putin is not our enemy and never was. He was fighting against the same cabal puppets that Trump is now busy taking down. Putin isn’t just offering to “sell” resources to America. It’s a much bigger deal and it will be a huge “safeguard” to prevent conflict in the future. What kind of deals are Trump and Putin making? “US stakes in Russia's energy infrastructure and companies” “Russia's globally significant critical mineral deposits remain woefully underexploited, but with US stakes in this industry through the above mentioned sequence and separate capital injections, it can be brought online relatively quickly for accelerating the US' diversification from dependence on China.” “Per Dmitriev's recent disclosure, talks on nuclear-powered data centers represent another promising opportunity for both countries.” “Critical mineral processing facilities and data centers can also be powered by hydroelectric dams, not just nuclear power plants, and the US can obtain stakes in all four - the facilities, centers, dams, and plants.” “The mineral deposits in which the US recently invested in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan can reach jointly owned processing facilities in Russia through the Trans-Siberian Railwayand then onward to the global market.” zerohedge.com/geopolitical/f… Two global powerhouses uniting in peace and prosperity.

I endorse this message ! Musk’s approach is so analogous to: bullying, overweening narcissism. DOGE has caused huge damage and will take years to recover. Starlink has to be worked around and replace- tall order, I know.
What this shows is that kissing Trump’s ass always fails. He reacts only to pressure. In this case terrible US polling, screaming Republicans, and catastrophic damage being done to US defense companies

The piece starts on a false premise that Roly Walker was making policy. He was following an instruction from Wes Streeting for military chiefs to engage with the public about preparedness . He said so in his speech at Telford last Wednesday . The attack on Walker is clownish . Bad editing by Gove.

@ClarkeMicah indulging in his dreary pro-Putin apologia again, this time in @spectator 1. Britain is a large country with a tiny army, not the other way round. In case you haven’t noticed, our defences are currently smaller than a fig leaf. 2. CGS is being sensible in warning that Britain, as part of NATO, needs to be ready for war. We have a dangerous conflagration on our borders. Wildfires have a habit of spreading. 3. No British general is advocating war or making policy. This is a silly straw man. In fact, it’s daft. If you really think that the MOD has any power look at how little they’re received in funding rounds since 1990. 4. Ukraine was invaded by Russia in 2022, with the first seizure of its sovereign territory in Crimea in 2014. Ukraine may have its faults, but it didn’t invite invasion. Nor is it responsible for the daily death of its citizens: Russia is, wholly and completely. 5. Britain is 100% right to support the sovereignty of a country that has been egregiously attacked by its neighbour. 6. Our friendship with the USSR from June 1941 was political and pragmatic; to defeat Hitler. 7. Russia is not ‘mysteriously our enemy’. It’s pretty clear why it is our enemy, with its aggrandising attitude to Ukraine and its relentless prosecution of an unnecessary war. But you know all these arguments, and will stand blithely by your own.

I found my self yelling at the radio when Anna Foster started asking why funds spent on a public information campaign were not just given to the MOD to help with increasing defence budget Not appreciating the huge difference in scale between the two. She is hopeles.

A phyrric victory mate, if it’s true . At what cost? The bombing and loss of life continues . The insurance costs and difficulties of hiring crew very different. No it is not a triumph for Trump . Two major choke points still under threat. Perhaps I live in a different world from Dr Desmond

Can’t think there is much point if it’s just a fest of personal abuse
I have spent much of today with a former British diplomat .@john_foremancbe yapping at my trouser-cuffs like a demented Chihuahua. He claims that I am a 'Kremlin apologist' etc, so demonstrating the establishment's pitiful inability to debate Ukraine policy.

Why is Anna foster talking such nonsense about resilience and defence on the BBC today show this morning? Bland platitudes lead to unintended misinformation and disinformation. What chance a national conversation about resilience and security as the pols and Whitehall continuously blather? No chance - perhaps ill conceived from the start

I do not endorse this message . The grammar and syntax - forget the sentiment - would make Cicero blush.
Fuck off Zelensky. Russia is not our enemy. Those idiots trying to claim we should be against Russia don’t have a leg to stand on because they support the massacres and genocides by Israel. So to all of you morons promoting war with Russia fck off you have zero support from me. I do NOT CONSENT

Europe have allowed social media to radicalise it's population unregulated. So many now believe the US/Russian propaganda. It's sickening we've been let down.

Bizarre, huh ?
The US is suddenly and quite rapidly moving to end the Ukraine war by offering wild, unprecedented concessions to Russia for one reason, and one reason alone: Netanyahu and the lobby overpowered every anti-Russia hawk in US defence circles, and reprioritized Iran as the top and only national security emergency for the US. With very high probability, this is another sign that the hot war on Iran is about to resume at the command of the US supreme leader, Milikovski Iran will shatter the empire and Israel. It will be fucking glorious

Since 2022 Russia has fired 20x more missiles and 4x as many drones into Ukraine, than vice versa. A serial and shameful liar.
Hitchens is a terrible apologist for the Kremlin: ‘Look carefully at that conflict over the past two years and you will notice the outcome, a change from a grinding land war into an increasingly costly and bloody exchange of missiles and drones, much of it deep in Russian territory’ spectator.com/article/genera…
