Of course those two things work together! FB Ads help stray dogs find new owners, they help aspiring yogi's find students for their classes, they even help didgeridoo bands find gigs. Please don't let the presence of problems blind you to all the good the platform does.
We have also made improvements to the Ad Library Report to make it easier for people to get a quick summary of spending. Starting in mid-May we will add a daily report and will have weekly and quarterly reports available for anyone to view or download. facebook.com/ads/library/rep…

We have also added the ability to report ads from within the library. (Please report ads that you believe may have violated our policies. (@robleathern)

We are working hard on this stuff Ben. We are now taking down about 800 million fake accounts per quarter, but we know there is more to do. If there are techniques you are aware of that you think we missed or research that you think we should see, please feel free to dm me.

I think the right denominator is "all people", right? In this case, the study says that <10% of the panel was exposed to fake content. (Fig 1c). Where is the deflection there? What denominator seems better to you?
