I wanted to lead my family more than anything. So why did I spend every night on the couch? I wanted to pray over my kids. Open the Bible at the table. Be the spiritual leader my home needed. I just never thought I had the right. So I didn't lead. Driveway. Dinner. Couch. Screen. Bed. Every night. It wasn't that I didn't care. Every time I thought about leading, a voice said: "Who are you to lead? Look at your record." The screen quieted that voice. It never filled the empty space in my home. My family felt it. Nobody was leading us toward God. The seat was empty, and I was sitting on the couch right next to it. Guilt didn't make me humble. It made me quiet. And my kids felt the silence. Then God stopped me with Romans 8:1. "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." My right to lead never rested on my record. It rested on Christ's. So I started small. Five simple steps. Some mornings I did them well. Some mornings I barely got through them. But I kept going. Today, the man who used to check out in front of the TV opens God's Word with his family most mornings. Not because I got good enough. Because I started. If you want to lead your family but feel disqualified, I wrote those 5 steps down for you. Who Am I to Lead? It's a free book, and it comes with a 5-day course. One step each morning. robmthompson.com/lead

One of my kids was watching a show I didn't like. I said nothing. I felt too guilty about what I was watching. That's what condemnation does. It shuts your mouth.

Who am I to lead? If you've asked that, I wrote a book for you. Free. Short. Five steps. Link in my bio.

Your kids aren't learning what matters from your words. They're learning it from what you move your week around.

For years I sat on the couch believing I had no right to lead my family. Now I help dads who believe the same lie. It starts with one question.

I grew up in church. I knew the verses. Then I met men who just did what the Bible said. I'd been a hearer my whole life. They were doers.

NEVER believe that you are too far gone? Those are lies from the pit of hell to get you to quit. Don't give up! Isaiah 59:1 "Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that is cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear."

Just going to put this here and let it do what it does. Let's go be great today.

You can't make yourself a new man. God renews how you think. His main tool is His Word. Open it this week.

Write Hebrews 10:14 on a card. Put it on your mirror. Every time the voice says you're disqualified, read it out loud.
