Microsoft and Nvidia both came into the Nous Research round
@tarunchitra on what that means for Hermes Agent:
"Nous is going to be one of the main open source harnesses you can use at Microsoft"
And Nvidia installs it by default on its DGX Spark machines
New Delphi Podcast with Tarun Chitra (@tarunchitra), founder of Gauntlet and managing partner at Robot Ventures
Robot just led the $90M round in @NousResearch. Tarun spent three to four months on diligence, from OpenRouter data to GitHub forks, before backing Nous and Hermes Agent
We get into why crypto's first run at AI went wrong, why the crypto people who dropped the token won, why OpenClaw is the worst developer experience he's used, and why Hermes is closer to Ubuntu than to Android
He also found Chinese robot makers building on Hermes, and some inference providers gaming cache pricing
His market structure take: all the money goes to the top and the bottom. Harnesses on top, inference underneath. Hermes is like investing in Phantom or FOMO
00:00 Intro
06:34 Robot Leads Nous's $90M Round
09:37 Crypto AI Was Meme Coins With More Steps
14:40 Why Nous Stood Out Early
28:14 Hermes vs OpenClaw
35:39 The End of AI Lock-In
46:33 The Ubuntu of AI
56:17 Microsoft and Nvidia Join the Round

I can't get Jensen using Hermes here. GG @NousResearch x @nvidia
Jensen closed his GTC Berlin 2026 keynote with this Hermes Agent demo as the finale.
He introduced it by saying the way to build an agent is to ask an agent to build it for you, so he installed and set up a customized Hermes in one prompt.
Then he used Hermes, running on @nvidia RTX Spark, to create a simulated training environment for the @huggingface Microduck. Hermes planned an obstacle course with Nemotron and had GPT-6 Astra build it using FreeCAD, Omniverse libraries, Blender, Newton, and Isaac Lab. Hermes trained thousands of simulated ducks on that course until the validated policy was ready to run on the real robot in the physical world.
At Nous, we believe open source is a practical tool as much as a philosophical ideal. It gives users the ability to build powerful, complex workflows chaining numerous local+cloud models, devices, and tools themselves instead of waiting for a company to enable them.

Our CEO @dillonrolnick sat down with @eastdakota, CEO of @Cloudflare, for a wide-ranging conversation about agents, the future of the internet, and the fight for digital sovereignty.
Thanks to the @usv team for hosting!
Yesterday AI was used to uncover major vulnerabilities in the infrastructure of the internet.
It's yet another example of how profoundly AI is reshaping the web.
But what emerges on the other side is very much up for grabs.
We were lucky enough to recently introduce two heroes of the Rebel Alliance
@eastdakota, CEO & cofounder of @Cloudflare
@dillonrolnick, CEO & cofounder of @NousResearch, the creators of Hermes, the largest open source agent harness in the world.
Together they discussed who gets to build, control, and benefit from an internet run by AI
It's worth a listen if you care about the future of the web.

We've surpassed 1 million accounts on Lighter Core. Thank you to everyone building and trading with us! 🕯️
Hylo closed a $1M strategic funding round led by @SolanaVentures with participation from @colosseum.
This marks Solana Ventures' 2nd and Colosseum's 3rd investment in Hylo, reflecting their continued conviction in our vision to scale leverage and yield infrastructure on Solana.
It was a blast indeed! Great to meet so many new people interested in compute and hang out with our friend @ani_pai on the eve of their “big secret news for nous” that turned out be a $1.5B series B round led by @robotventures.🚀 I should’ve taken a free t-shirt in hindsight! 😭
We had a blast hosting our first Compute Trading Happy Hour with @silicondata & @computeexchange!
Great to see so much enthusiasm and energy around establishing compute as its own asset class.
Stay tuned for the next one.

Introducing: The Challenger Series - S1
To start, we are allocating 12.5% of net fees to weekly reward pools for leagues Gold -> Challenger!
What's new 👇
🔍What gives you conviction before an idea becomes consensus?
With a background in public credit investment, I’m SO used to having financial statements, operating histories, and an existing business to evaluate. Listening to @ani_pai last week, in a conversation moderated by @LBarberis, I was curious about what gave Ani the conviction to back ideas when so little of that evidence exists.
Three comments stayed with me:
💡“You’d be surprised at how often very talented people make something work.”
The Praxis story clearly proved that! Before there was a city, there was a team bringing people from very different fields together around the idea. It made me think about how much you can learn from who chooses to join a founder and why they stay.
💡“Now companies have to work to prove their value to then be able to launch a token.”
The Hyperliquid discussion gave me a different way to think about crypto. Dismissing ICOs because of past failures could mean possibly overlooking an existing business using a token to provide liquidity. Ani also discussed how product quality and incentives helped attract users.
What people value about the product, and how much their participation depends on the rewards? That seems like a better starting point for conviction than the token price alone.
💡“You have to be right about the space, the timing of the space and then the timing of the company.”
This was my favorite! Ani spoke openly about being too optimistic and expecting things to happen sooner than they did. It’s easy to feel validated when a sector takes off. Whether your particular investment works out is still a separate question.
Shoutout to Ani and Lorenzo again for such a candid conversation!

There are many “AI forecasting” companies
Very few who are live
Many VCs who raised money for themselves claiming to do this with little to show
Only a few who will make money for you
Introducing Catalyst.
What do you believe? How would you trade on it?
You notice data centers are popping-up everywhere, gold will skyrocket, or just know that Labubus will go out of fashion.
Catalyst researches your ideas, builds the optimal strategy, monitors events, and executes trades. Autonomously.

Excited to introduce Onyx and announce our $8M seed round led by Dimension to build a virtual immune system!
Onyx has always been a story of connection. The first connection was to my cofounder @amlakhan, a deeply curious technologist who I’ve been fortunate to call a friend for 19 years now. I've always said that working together was a cornerstone of starting Onyx, and it truly has been one of the best decisions I've ever made.
Connection is also at the heart of what Onyx does. We believe AI is key to making biological complexity tractable, ultimately transforming life sciences into an engineering discipline. But that requires the right data. AI performance compounds with context, and richer biological context comes from more connected data.
In biology, such context is often missing: molecular data, clinical history, and change over time are typically captured in isolated fragments. Onyx provides the substrate that connects them, pairing genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics with rich clinical histories. By studying these layers together in people over time, our data platform traces how real human biology changes in response to infection, inflammation, and treatment. Seeing how these trajectories differ across people brings us closer to understanding what drives disease—and to developing precision medicines that work better for real people.
Yet connecting data is only possible because of the people who have connected with our mission. Nearly a thousand members have already joined our research studies. They are more than research participants: they are difference-makers transforming how we understand some of humanity’s most complex and chronic diseases. I always say that our work is for people, but the truth is that people make our work possible. That connection comes full circle, and at Onyx, people will always come first.
Finally, as we raised our oversubscribed round, we sought more than just business partners. We wanted investors we felt a true connection to—not merely sources of capital, but co-conspirators in creating meaningful change. To that end, we feel incredibly fortunate to have joined forces with @_DimensionCap, @haystackvc, @refactor, @standard_vc, @robotventures, and many more.
Now back to building!
Today we're introducing Onyx, a research collective building a virtual immune system: a model of how real people respond to infection, inflammation, and treatment.
We're launching with an $8M seed round led by Dimension Capital.

🚨BREAKING: Nous Research just raised $90M at a $1.5B valuation
HERMES WON
Friendly reminder that Hermes was never built or intended to be exclusively for the "personal assistant" agent that can just read your emails and nothing else.
I fully intend and have plainly stated many times that I always built hermes to be the most powerful AI Agent.
"Normie" consumers can leverage that and we do what we can to make it an experience they can approach (the mobile app will be almost exclusively focused on consumer) - but they are not our only demographic.
I want the scientists, the cybersecurity engineers, the developers, the knowledge workers, the creatives, and everyone else to be able to have an agent that they can leverage that is maximally useful to them too.
Not just your mom. (She called btw you need to make your bed)
