Would be good to have some determinism at least on the supply chain side and dependencies... anyone got ideas?
"I submitted this talk before it was cool..." vibes going on with what happened in the past week. I'll be at @github Universe tomorrow, talking about solving the explosion of CVEs (teaser - that's not the main problem). It will get Nixy.
Lots of folks joined Flox this week, this last post for the week is probably the most timely. Julian is joining us after years of building security solutions to lead the Flox security product. Nix has always been the way, now we are working to get it out for everyone. #upstream
"NixOS is making me less afraid" is on the hackernews front page. Verbatim how Nix made me feel years ago.
Just in case you missed this from the beginning of the. month. Nix continues to grow in agentland for all the right reasons.
Nothing. Nix is the only way we scale our infra into what agents have in store for us.
#buck2 #nix #nixpkgs #nixos the integration between these things can be frighteningly good....
What's stopping us?

Chris is joining Flox to lead marketing! First thing I told him was that we've been trying to figure out how to talk about Nix for about 23 years... This isn't going to be easy. Excited to have him bring his experience across @HashiCorp, @Apptio, @Microsoft and startups to us.
Had our NYC Nix and Flox dinner yesterday with friends from @CoreWeave @huggingface. Never learned more about bees in a single dinner. 🐝❄️
we've now got clear benchmarks on the impact from building up correct agent infra, nix does a lot of the heavy lifting for us.
Last week our co-founder and CEO @ronefroni joined “The Case for Open Source Models” panel at Leverage Israel during SF Tech Week.
Big thanks to his fellow panelists and moderator for a great conversation on why open models matter, and what it takes to run them in a way teams can actually trust and reproduce.
Thanks to Leverage, Onyx Security and @speedrun for bringing the room together!
Giving a talk at Github Universe on how Nix is going to change the game for security and agents.
Will share the raw data in the comments.
The busiest single repo on GitHub saw roughly a billion requests in ONE MONTH. Today, we shared how we’re rebuilding GitHub’s storage layer (without changing how you use GitHub) decoupling compute & storage so reads and writes scale independently.
Quicker pushes, pulls, and a platform that stays fast as more agents and developers code. We’re designing against some of the largest workloads on the platform so there’s headroom for everyone.
More below on how this works and excited to show you more at @GitHub Universe. 👇
Great team, great Max ;)
i'm hiring 2 senior engineers + 1 android engineer to build the plugins developer platform at openai!
we're opening up the same platform we use to build chatgpt's own features. come help define what a new developer platform looks like when 1.2B people already use the product every week.
if you've built devtools, maintained an open-source project, or have unusually strong opinions about APIs and abstractions – i'd love to talk.
