Before rewriting your Rails app in Rust, you may want to give your agent access to our MCP server. It could probably find some things to fix and optimize. rorvswild.com/docs/get-start…

I reduced the size of a SQL table and its indexes from 300 MB to 70 MB: 1. No timestamps (16 bytes less per row) 2. No ID column (natural primary key, so one less index) 3. CREATE TABLE name (...) WITHOUT ROWID (SQLite only)

The improvement is significant because I/O operations are smaller and the data is more easily cached by the file system. Of course, not all models are suitable for these tips. The more rows a table has, the more important it is to carefully choose the column types.

I released ActiveHashcash 0.5.0 this weekend. It gets a nice speedup to solve the Hashcash stamp thanks to @thibaudgg. ActiveHashcash protects Rails applications against spam bots and brute force attacks.

In case anyone still runs Rails 7.2.x this is the sign to rush the upgrade. I assume that version is now not supported anymore. Source: rubyonrails.org/maintenance

The answer to this seems to be the RoRvsWild gem. It displays the last 100 requests at http://localhost:3000/rorvswild.
How do you guys profile API requests in a Rails app? Is there something like rack-miniprofiler for that?
