Y’all confuse Bending with Mastery so much that now it’s getting annoying. There’s a scene in Book One of ATLA where Aang firebends for the first time and ends up burning Katara. What he did there is bending. What you see Korra do as a toddler is bending. What these girls are doing, is bending.
It’s not locked behind some gate that they have to unlock, no. It’s a part of who they are hence why Katara was able to do it on the very first episode.
Learning to use it efficiently is what we call mastery and these girls, aren’t masters of any of the elements, they’re just benders!
